  • Patent number: 5830096
Abstract: A bicycle power train for bicycles, the bicycle power train including a driving sprocket set and a driven sprocket set. A chain connects the driving sprocket set and the driven sprocket set to one another. The chain transfers torque from a sprocket of the driving sprocket set to a sprocket of the driven sprocket set. The torque is transferred to the chain from the driving sprocket via drive teeth disposed on the driving sprocket. The drive teeth each include a drive flank that engages a corresponding link roller of the chain. Each drive flank has a bevel formed thereon, the bevel being shaped to compensate for the lengthening of the chain with wear. The bevel is configured to maximize the number of drive teeth that can simultaneously engage the chain and participate in the transfer of torque over the life of the chain.

  • Patent number: 5738603
Abstract: Derailleur with at least two sprockets on a sprocket set which is located around a pedal axle of a bicycle, which sprockets are provided with chain transfer assistance measures to assist the transfer of the chain in upshifting or downshifting, whereby the shifting can be done under load in both of these directions. The chain transfer assistance measures comprise a tooth space with a spiral-shaped base, a conical rivet with an encircling sharp edge to locate the chain in the vicinity of its links between the chain plates, as well as bevels, recesses and steps, the totality of which optimize the chain transfer in both directions between sprockets which are coordinated with one another.

  • Patent number: 5522611
Abstract: A multiple sprocket chainwheel for bicycle derailleurs to drive a hub bushing on the rear wheel by means of at least two sprockets which have different numbers of teeth, and which are located non-rotationally on a chainwheel bushing, whereby spacing connecting rings with bearings and a drive bushing are located between the sprockets, which drive bushing is driven in the driving direction by the chainwheel bushing by means of a freewheel mechanism, whereby the connecting rings have clamping projections which can be inserted into clamping points on the sprockets, which makes possible it possible to have an alternating arrangement in series of a sprocket, a connecting ring, a sprocket, a connecting ring etc. The desired position of one sprocket in relation to another is achieved when a guide tooth on the inside diameter of the one sprocket coincides with the guide tooth on another sprocket.

  • Patent number: 5503598
Abstract: A derailleur with at least two sprockets (A, C) on a sprocket unit (A-C) is designed so that the chain (B) can be shifted up and down more easily between a smaller sprocket (C) and a larger sprocket (A). For this purpose, there is a double tooth space (ZA) on at least the larger sprocket (A), which forms a channel for the transfer of the chain between the two sprockets. By means of a link support plate (16) of the larger sprocket (A), a path (B1, B2. B3, B4, B5) which is curved or bent radially outwardly convexly--seen in the axial direction--of a chain transfer segment is achieved, which is formed during the transfer of the chain from the smaller sprocket (C) to the larger sprocket (A) in the vicinity of the double tooth space (ZA).

  • Patent number: 4693093
Abstract: A cam system for a flat knitting machine having a knitting carriage running in one direction, comprises knitting and loop-transferring cam elements. To expand possibilities of the flat knitting machine of the foregoing type to produce a plurality of specific patterns without changing a needle selection system, an additional needle selection element is provided in the cam system for guiding the selected knitting needles over an upper needle sinker away in the region of a full drive element. Also, an additional pull-off cam element is provided in the cam system for bringing the selected needles to a comb-balancing position.

  • Patent number: 4648249
Abstract: A needle selecting arrangement for a knitting machine with a knitting and stitching transmitting cam and a plurality of electromagnetic selecting elements, the arrangement comprises a plurality of spring biased needles each having a needle shaft; comprising at least one switchable displacement cam part arranged to move in front of the knitting and stitching transferring cam; a plate cover having a lower edge and a plurality of openings which are arranged in a stepped manner in association with the selecting elements and normal to a needle bed plane; an arresting rail provided with a plurality of grooves; a plurality of plates having a first side which faces toward the needles and provided at the first side with a substantially spherical end arranged to abut against the needle shaft and with a plate foot cooperating with the displacement cam part, each of the plates having an opposite second side which is fork-shaped and is provided with cam projections for tensioning against the lower edge of the plate cover
