  • Publication number: 20240133789
Abstract: The invention relates to devices for the sequential testing of filters comprising couplers for connection to the filter to be tested, a first assembly having an aerosol generator and a first measuring device for determining the aerosol concentration of the air, and a second assembly having a device for sucking in air in connection with a second measuring device for determining the aerosol concentration of the air downstream of the filter. The devices are distinguished, in particular, by a short preparation time and a short postprocessing time during the measurement time of the filter to be tested. For this purpose, the raw gas-side coupler is connected to a non-return valve. Furthermore, the first assembly is connected to the raw gas-side coupler via a first shut-off valve, the second assembly is connected to the clean gas-side coupler via a second shut-off valve and the actuating devices of the shut-off valves are connected to a control device.

  • Patent number: 7727481
Abstract: A specimen holder (10) is proposed in order to create a capability for preparing, in a cutting device, in particular a microtome or ultramicrotome, a specimen that is to examined in an AFM. The specimen holder (10) is embodied in several parts. It comprises an insert (12) in which the specimen is secured. Also provided is a receiving ring (14) in which the insert (12) can be received. The insert together with the receiving ring (14) is mounted, in particular thread-joined, on a base element (16). As a result of the mounting of the receiving ring (14) on the base element (16), the insert together with the specimen is fixed in its position.

  • Patent number: 7429085
Abstract: A seat, particularly an air passenger seat, includes a seat part and a backrest. The backrest has a backrest element (10) with an arched, one-piece frame part (12) having at least one hollow profile (14). In order for the frame part (12) to have, at least in part, at least one additional hollow profile (16) and for the adjoining hollow profiles (14, 16) to be situated one behind the other in the normal direction of movement (flying direction (18)) of the seat, the backrest element is reinforced in the relevant areas in such a manner that, even in the event of a crash, the base frame structure remains intact.

  • Patent number: 6168916
Abstract: A method of making retrovirus vectors having selected characteristics, in particular an increased ability to infect a particular target cell, comprises subjecting a starting retrovirus or retroviral vector to a selection process in vitro which involves a plurality of rounds of infection of a host cell during which the retrovirus or retroviral vector evolves to attain the selected characteristics. Components of the evolved retrovirus or retroviral vector can be used in retroviral vector production systems for producing retroviral vectors having the selected characteristics. The invention is particularly useful for preparing retroviral vectors suitable for gene therapy.

  • Patent number: 5961809
Abstract: A process for improving the adherence of paint applied after thin-film anodization is characterized in that the anodized metal surfaces are brought into contact with an aqueous solution containing one or more of the following components: (a) 200 to 2000 ppm of a homopolymer or copolymer of acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, and/or their esters; (b) 200 to 3000 ppm of a poly(vinyl phenol) compound in which at part of the phenol rings carry an alkylamino substituent; (c) 200 to 3000 ppm of hexafluorotitanic acid, hexafluorozirconic acid, and/or their anions.
