Patent number: 10400386Abstract: A method and device providing that the corners of a respective laundry item are transferred one by one from a conveyor to spreading clamps of a pair of spreading clamps at the same position in each case. The respective conveyor therefore only requires a single circulatory track. Laundry items in commercial laundries are fed by at least one conveyor to spreading clamps of an input machine. In this case, each corner delimiting a front edge of the laundry item is held by a clamp of the conveyor. The respective conveyor is usually branched, in order for the corners to be transferred at the same time to the two spreading clamps of a pair of spreading clamps. Thus, the respective conveyor must have a branched track system with appropriate switches.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 2018Date of Patent: September 3, 2019Assignee: Herbert Kannegiesser GmbHInventors: Engelbert Heinz, Andreas Olivieri

Patent number: 9187253Abstract: Items of laundry (10) are fed, in laundries, to a laundry-treatment device with adjacent corners (25) of an upper edge (39) hanging beneath two clip carriages (22). It is customary for the items of laundry (10) to be stored in a sorted state on an interim basis upstream of the laundry-treatment device. The invention provides for adjacent clip carriages (22) of successive items of laundry (10) to be assigned in pairs to drivers (28) of a catch conveyor (26). The invention also provides for the sagging of the upper edge (39), and the lowermost location (40) of the lower edge (42), of the item of laundry (10) to be determined by a line-measuring device (26), in order for the item of laundry (10) to be identified in this way.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 2014Date of Patent: November 17, 2015Assignee: Herbert Kannegiesser GmbHInventors: Andreas Olivieri, Frank Schormann, Norbert Kortner, Engelbert Heinz

Patent number: 8272499Abstract: A method and apparatus in which laundry cakes (10), formed when washed laundry articles are for the most part freed in a dewatering press of the treatment liquid bound in them giving rise to a laundry cake (10) consisting of coherent laundry articles, are divided from the end face (15) by a roller-like divider (20) which can be driven in rotation about a horizontal axis of rotation (31), which axis of rotation (21) runs parallel to the end face (15) of the laundry cake (10) to be divided, and an effective division of the laundry cake (10) which takes care of the laundry articles is carried out.Type: GrantFiled: July 9, 2010Date of Patent: September 25, 2012Assignee: Herbert Kannegiesser GmbHInventors: Friedhelm Mehrhoff, Andreas Olivieri, Engelbert Heinz

Publication number: 20120099947Abstract: A reliable operation for sorting items of laundry automatically. For this purpose, provision is made for a plurality of simultaneously gripped items of laundry to be separated once they have been gripped by a gripping arrangement (20). Reliable separation of an item of laundry is followed by the item of laundry being measured in the straightened-out state on a conveyor. Preferably the distance between two diagonally opposite corners of the item of laundry on the conveyor is determined. This gives rise to very precise automatic measuring always just of a single item of laundry.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 19, 2011Publication date: April 26, 2012Applicant: Herbert Kannegiesser GmbHInventors: Engelbert Heinz, Friedhelm Mehrhoff, Andreas Olivieri, Alexander Farchmin, Jan Hellmig

Publication number: 20090266749Abstract: The washing of items of linen is preceded by a plurality of treatments. The items of linen have to be singled out and sorted. In addition, processes for transferring the items of linen are required. In the past, items of linen have been singled out, sorted and transferred in an only partly automated manner. Manual activities are therefore still required. The invention provides for the items of linen to be singled out automatically, the singled-out items of linen to be transferred automatically from a conveyor to a transportation device, various sorting criteria to be determined automatically, in particular the color and the structure of the items of linen, and finally the items of linen to be sorted automatically in accordance with the detected sorting criteria in that they are blown downward at the intended point of a distributor conveyor. The measures according to the invention render manual activities superfluous.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 23, 2009Publication date: October 29, 2009Inventors: Engelbert Heinz, Andreas Olivieri, Friedhelm Mehrhoff, Alexander Farchmin, Jan Hellmig

Patent number: 6287066Abstract: According to the invention, the items of laundry (11) are grasped successively by a gripper (23), are lifted up and taken over by a transfer means (24) which transports the respective item of laundry (11) through a gap (29). The gap (29) of the transfer means (24) ensures that only individual items of laundry (11) can be transported on further by the transfer means (24) and a force which is required for completely pulling out the respective item of laundry (11) from the pile of laundry (10) can be exerted on the item of laundry (11). As a result, reliable separating of items of laundry (11) from a pile of laundry (10) is ensured.Type: GrantFiled: May 12, 2000Date of Patent: September 11, 2001Assignee: Herbert Kannegiesser GmbH & Co.Inventors: Engelbert Heinz, Friedhelm Mehrhoff, Andreas Olivieri

Patent number: 6089810Abstract: Items of laundry (11) released from a washing machine as a pile of laundry (10) have to be separated before they can be processed further. The aim is to automate this separating procedure. Known methods for automating the separating of items of laundry (11) are still inadequate. According to the invention, the items of laundry (11) are grasped successively by a gripper (23), are lifted up and taken over by a transfer means (24) which transports the respective item of laundry (11) through a gap (29). The gap (29) of the transfer means (24) ensures that only individual items of laundry (11) can be transported on further by the transfer means (24) and a force which is required for completely pulling out the respective item of laundry (11) from the pile of laundry (10) can be exerted on the item of laundry (11).
