  • Publication number: 20230352213
Abstract: A power cable including: a conductor, an insulation system including an inner semiconducting layer arranged around the conductor, an insulation layer arranged around the inner semiconducting layer, and an outer semiconducting layer arranged around the insulation layer, an elastic mechanical support layer arranged around the outer semiconducting layer, a metallic water blocking layer having a longitudinal weld seam, the metallic water blocking layer being arranged around the mechanical support layer, wherein the mechanical support layer is permanently thermally expanded radially as a result of a heat treatment process, thereby mechanically supporting the metallic water blocking layer.

  • Publication number: 20230019405
Abstract: A static AC submarine power cable configured for at least 72 kV operation including: a power core including: a conductor, an insulation system surrounding the conductor, and a smooth metallic water-blocking sheath surrounding the insulation system, wherein the metallic water-blocking sheath includes stainless steel.

  • Patent number: 10083778
Abstract: A dynamic submarine power cable including a first conductor, a first insulation system layer, a first sheath, and a first screen layer arranged between the first insulation system layer and the first sheath. The first screen layer includes a plurality of first screen wires each having a first diameter and a plurality of first polymer wires each having a second diameter which is larger than the first diameter. The first screen wires and the first polymer wires are arranged in a helical manner around the first insulation system layer. The first screen wires and the first polymer wires are arranged alternatingly along the periphery of the first insulation system layer in any cross section. A radial distance between the central axis of any of the first screen wires and the central axis of the first conductor is less than a radial distance between the central axis of any of the first polymer wires and the central axis of the first conductor.
