Patent number: 9948295Abstract: A sensor device for a motor vehicle includes a multi-layer circuit board on which a plurality of metallized planes are formed. A capacitive sensor electrode is formed on one of the planes for detection by capacitive approachment sensing. A control device controls the sensor electrode as a capacitive sensor electrode in order to detect approaches of a user towards the sensor electrode via an evaluation device. At least one planar electrode region is formed on each of the metallized planes, wherein each of the electrode regions is coupled to the control device. At least two of the electrode regions on different metallized planes are activated and evaluated as sensor electrodes and at least two of the electrode regions on different planes are activated and evaluated as the ground in a temporally offset manner.Type: GrantFiled: May 7, 2015Date of Patent: April 17, 2018Assignee: Huf Huelsbeck & Fuerst GmbH & Co. Patent number: 9447604Abstract: A door handle for motor vehicles includes a handle body and a cover which cooperate to form a handle for a user. An accommodating space for electronic components is formed between the handle body and the cover. A capacitive proximity sensor is arranged in the space. The sensor has an active capacitive face directed towards the cover for detecting approaching movements. The capacitive face is coupled to an evaluation circuit which detects changes in the capacitance of the capacitive face. A sealing element composed of a closed-cell foam is located in the space. The sealing element has at least one continuous opening spaced from an edge. The opening is located above the active face of the proximity sensor and is compressed between the cover and the handle body with the result that at least one area above the active face of the sensor is free of foam.Type: GrantFiled: February 25, 2013Date of Patent: September 20, 2016Assignee: Huf Huelsbeck & Fuerst GmbH & Co. KGInventors: Martin Witte, Andreas Peschl

Patent number: 8576047Abstract: A motor vehicle outside door handle with a wall surrounding an interior space, a first sensor electrode of a first capacitive sensor for triggering a final locking operation, a second sensor electrode of a second capacitive sensor for triggering a locking operation, and an evaluation circuit, which is connected to the first sensor electrode. The second sensor electrode is arranged in the interior space. The first sensor electrode, the second sensor electrode and the evaluation circuit are accommodated in a single sensor module which can be inserted into the interior space. The sensor module has a flat plastic trough which has a bottom wall and is open on one side. A printed circuit board provided with connecting cables is placed into the plastic trough filled with a plastics compound. The sensor electrodes are formed by metal-coated layers of the printed circuit board or by metal bodies mounted on the printed circuit board.Type: GrantFiled: January 30, 2009Date of Patent: November 5, 2013Assignee: Huf Hulsbeck & Furst GmbH & Co. Patent number: 8416092Abstract: Two sensors (20, 30) which cooperate with one another are used in the interior of an activator (10) in order to trigger functions in a vehicle, said sensors (20, 30) being a proximity sensor (20) with a capacitive electrode (21) and a pressure sensor (30) with a pressure measuring element (31). The intention is that the pressure measuring element (31) will be acted on when pressure is applied manually (44) to an application point (43) on the outside of the actuator (10). It is proposed that in order to improve the method of functioning that the electrode (21) of the proximity sensor (20) be provided with a breakthrough (22) and that the pressure transmission between the application point (43) on the actuator (10) and the pressure measuring element (31) be lead through the breakthrough (22) in the electrode (21). The space between the application point (43) and the pressure measuring element (31) is spanned by a pressure transmitting means (50) which passes through the breakthrough (22).Type: GrantFiled: April 11, 2008Date of Patent: April 9, 2013Assignee: HUF Hülsbeck & Fürst GmbH & Co. Publication number: 20110082589Abstract: A control device for a motor vehicle, wherein the control device serves to monitor user access. The system has a piezo sensor which is arranged for pressure or touch detection by a user and connected to a pressure loaded area. A charging circuit is provided, which charges the piezo sensor until a previously specified voltage parameter is reached. A recording and analysis system transforms the voltage that is applied to the piezo sensor into digital parameters and records a series of transformed voltage parameters. A control system is connected to the piezo sensor with an activatable input, and activates the analysis system. A microcontroller is arranged in the control system, and a signal to the activatable input triggers an interrupt in the microcontroller.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 13, 2010Publication date: April 7, 2011Inventors: Martin Witte, Andreas Peschl
