  • Patent number: 10234277
Abstract: A length-measuring device includes a scanning carriage for scanning a measuring graduation that is to be guided longitudinally in the measurement direction on a guide surface. A coupling couples the scanning carriage to a drive dog rigidly in the measurement direction and resiliently transversely to the measurement direction. A first spring is disposed between a connecting element of the coupling and the drive dog and exerts a pressure force on the scanning carriage at a first position so as to press the scanning carriage against the guide surface. A second spring is disposed between the connecting element and the scanning carriage. The second spring is spaced apart from the first spring in the measurement direction and exerts a pressure force on the scanning carriage at a second position spaced apart from the first position in the measurement direction so as to press the scanning carriage against the guide surface.

  • Patent number: 7658014
Abstract: A length measuring arrangement for measuring the relative position of two objects, the length measuring arrangement including a housing made of a non-magnetic material and longitudinally extending in a measuring direction. The length measuring arrangement including a scale in the housing, the scale having a measuring graduation, a first guide face and a second guide face which extends perpendicular to the first guide face. A mounting piece attachable to one of the two objects rigidly in the measuring direction and resiliently transversely to the measuring direction. The length measuring arrangement including a scanning carriage that scans the measuring graduation, wherein the scanning carriage is coupled to the mounting piece rigidly in the measuring direction and resiliently transversely to the measuring direction, and the scanning carriage is linearly guided in the measuring direction on the first and second guide faces and is pressed against the first and second guide faces.

  • Patent number: 6612048
Abstract: An angular position measuring system has a measuring tape including an adjusting device, the measuring tape being attached via an elastic layer to a clamping ring. A clamping device allows the arrangement to be attached to a body to be measured. Thus, the adjustment of the distance between the ends of the measuring tape is independent of the attachment of the measuring tape to the shaft. The elastic layer largely prevents the transfer of friction-dependent, local expansions of the clamping ring. The demands on the surface processing of the shaft are reduced in comparison with the related art.

  • Patent number: 6031224
Abstract: A position measuring system including a scale and a scanning unit for scanning the scale and movable relative to the scale in a measuring direction, for generating position-dependent measuring signals, the scanning unit including a pattern with first and second sections. A reference track including a first field on one side of a reference position, and a second field which is different from the first field and located on the other side of the reference position, wherein when the first field of the reference track is scanned by the pattern of the scanning unit, a continuously strong scanning signal is generated and when the second field of the reference track is scanned by the pattern of the scanning unit a continuously weak scanning signal is generated. A module to which the scanning signal of the reference track is supplied and forms a characteristic signal.
