  • Patent number: 9554703
Abstract: A diabetes care system for detection of an analyte and method for selective data transmission are disclosed. The diabetes care system has a mobile component and a base station, wherein a data transmission occurring between the mobile component and the base station within a time interval in which a wireless communication link exists, wherein is selectively performed in such a manner that within the time interval, a first partial set of the data is transmitted from the mobile component to the base station. The first partial set is selected using a processor-controlled selection algorithm in such a manner that the data transmitted in the time interval is representative of the entirety of the data stored in the mobile component.

  • Patent number: 8328735
Abstract: An analytical system for detecting an analyte in a body fluid comprises a disposable integrated puncturing and analyzing element and a reusable analytical system. The integrated element includes a puncturing element having a tip for generating a puncture wound in a body part and an elongated flat test strip having a top side and a bottom side. The integrated element is held in a holder such that, in a sample application position of the test strip, the top side of the test strip is facing upward. A sample application area for manual application of a drop exiting from the puncture wound of the body part is provided on the top side of the test strip such that, in the sample application position, the drop is applied to the sample application area from directly above.

The integrated puncturing and analyzing element includes a puncturing element having a tip for generating a puncture wound in a body part and an elongated flat test strip having a top side and a bottom side. The analyzing instrument having a housing has a holder for holding an integrated puncturing and analyzing element, and a coupling unit which is provided such as to couple the puncturing element to a drive by means of which a puncturing movement of the puncturing element is driven, during which it is moved on a path of movement in the puncturing direction during an advancement phase and, after reaching a reversal point of the puncturing movement, is moved opposite to the puncturing direction in a return phase.

  • Publication number: 20080114292
Abstract: An infusion system comprises an infusion unit for infusing fluid into a user's body and a remote control for wirelessly receiving or sending signals to the infusion unit. The infusion system is capable of operating in two separate modes, namely a remote control mode and a direct control mode. In the remote control mode, an infusion command is generated by an input devise of the remote control. The verification to a user that the command has been received, executed or transmitted is outputted by an output device in the remote controller. In the direct control mode the infusion command is generated by an input device of the infusion unit. The verification to a user that the command has been received, executed or transmitted is outputted by an output device in the infusion unit.
