  • Publication number: 20210161304
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for using a cushion, in particular for a chair, said cushion having a first cushion element (6) that can be moved with an associated degree of freedom. In said method, a sensor (98a, 98b, 98c, 98d) integrated into the cushion is used to sense the position or the change in position relative to at least one first cushion element (6), with respect to at least one degree of freedom associated with said element. The sensor (98a, 38b, 98c, 98d) is coupled to an interface (93) for the wireless output of measured values. The sensor (98a, 98b, 98c, 98d) senses measured values and sends at least some of the measured values over the interface (93) to a device (70, 80) outside the cushion, said device (70, 80) receiving and evaluating the measured values and emitting an output signal.

  • Patent number: 10219628
Abstract: An office, work and leisure chair and retrofit kit for subliminal motions of the seated person. The chair has a cruciform base (1) with rollers (4), a pneumatic spring-action post (2) with an interface plate (5) for a seat panel (21) and seat pad (19), and a backrest (22). The seat panel is mounted with wobble capability on a pneumatic cushion, which has deformable air chambers (18, 35) connected by connecting hoses (27) and lies on an elastically deformable hollow body (14). The hollow body pumps the air chambers when a person sits down and stands up. A pump hose (12) with a one-way valve leads from the hollow body to compensate for leakage losses. Connecting hoses between the air chambers have valves (31; 75; 89) such that the wobbling distance of the seat panel and the damping of the wobbling motion is variable.

  • Patent number: 10213024
Abstract: Office, work and leisure chair and retrofit kit for causing subliminal movements of the person sitting thereon. The chair has a cruciform base (1), freely articulated rollers (4), a gas-spring support (2) and an interface panel (5) resting thereon as a support panel. Mounted on the support panel is a base panel (28) bearing a seat cover (19) with a seat surface and back rest (22). The seat cover is provided and allowed to wobble, resting via a cover panel (27) on a plurality of spring elements (7), which are displaceable radially, or obliquely in relation to the radial direction, or helically from the center of the base panel to the periphery of the base panel. The spring elements are mechanically, hydraulically, pneumatically or electrically displaceable, so that the wobble distance of the seat cover and the attenuation of the wobble movement are variable.

  • Publication number: 20180339623
Abstract: The backrest brings about the stimulation of underlying movements in the back muscles. The backrest consists of at least one moveable element (1) formed of two flexible column strips (2, 3) running over one another and connected via struts (4), and which track the spinal column of the person using the chair with a gap. This element (1) extends upwards from the centre of the rear end of the seating surface. The front column strip carries a number of moveable elements (6) laterally protruding on both sides like ribs (6) from the central moveable element (1), each having two transverse strips (7, 8) for supporting the back region of the seated person exclusively on both sides of their spinal column. Each time the backrest constructed in this way is leant upon, a movement of its contact surface is brought about in different directions, and thereby a massaging of the back muscles of the user.

  • Patent number: 9321532
Abstract: The altitude-optimized, pressurized suit consists of a sheath of a sparingly expansible textile material. This sheath has fastened in it, and on it, by sewing, adhesive bonding or welding, compartments which are formed by virtue of the sheath being doubled, in that a strip of textile material is applied to the inside, or in the second case to the outside, of the sheath, and therefore it is connected to the sheath if only along its periphery. These compartments likewise consist of textile materials, in the first case of the same material as the sheath, and in the second case of an expansible knitted fabric. Flexible tubes-which expand under pressure are introduced into these compartments. The first-mentioned compartments act as “spacers” for tightening the suit over the topography of the wearer's body. The second-mentioned compartments act as “muscles” and press locally onto the wearer's body.

Abstract: —The suit according to the invention consists of a sheath of an expansible material, which has compartments formed by virtue of the sheath being doubled. A strip of textile material is applied to the inside, or outside, of the sheath. These compartments consist of the same material as the sheath or of an expansible knitted fabric. Flexible tubes which expand under pressure are introduced into these compartments. The first-mentioned compartments, with material which can expand on one side, act as so-called spacers and act as displacers for tightening the protective suit over the wearer's body. The second-mentioned compartments act as muscles and press locally onto the wearer's body. The compartments are drawn together and tighten the sheath to generate an altitude-optimized pressure. These second-mentioned compartments tighten the acceleration protection suit to an increasing extent until the tension ? around the wearer's body builds up the internal pressure.

  • Patent number: 8226043
Abstract: The present invention relates to an autonomous stratosphere platform which is preferably intended to be positioned in the stratosphere, is carried by a carrying shield (1) and is controlled by a control and drive unit (3) which can use control elements (301) to control the carrying shield (1) via lines (302). A cable (5) is used to connect the control and drive unit (3) to a capsule (2) which is intended to hold a payload and the requisite electrical and electronic components for operating the autonomous stratosphere platform. A control element (8) having an anchoring shield (6) is fastened to the capsule (2), again on a cable (5). The stratosphere platform experiences uplift as a result of the wind gradient between the wind layer of the anchoring shield (6) and that of the carrying shield (1).

  • Patent number: 7637287
Abstract: Disclosed is an anti-buckling device (1) which is made of an elastic material and comprises several ribs (2) that extend in the longitudinal direction thereof, the space between two ribs (2) forming a groove (3). The anti-buckling device (1) is inserted into a thin-walled duct. The anti-buckling device (1) prevents the duct from buckling and thus from being occluded in a bend when said duct is bent. A fluid is able to circulate within the duct and bypass the bend in the grooves (3) of the anti-buckling device (1). The envelope of the cross section of the anti-buckling device is essentially lenticular as a duct having a round cross section also becomes lenticular in a bend.

  • Publication number: 20080275291
Abstract: An acceleration protection suit having a sparingly extensible outer layer with veins running essentially along a bodily axis of a wearer which deforms when pressurized in such a way as to generate a tension in the sparingly extensible outer layer, with which pressure can be exerted on the wearer to offset G-forces. Means are provided for tightening and adjusting the protective suit to the wearer. At least part of the veins are permeable to gas at least in spots on a side facing the wearer so that the wearer can be air-conditioned by exiting gas when the veins are pressurized.

Abstract: A protective helmet having an inner hood includes a spacer knitted fabric of a monofilament yarn. The hood is covered by a pneumatic central layer which can be pressurized by means of compressed air and can be inflated by means of an air pump which can be, for example, removed and provided with valves. An outer layer consists of an inner textile layer which lies over the pneumatic central layer, and plates which are fixed to the textile layer, for example by adhesion. The plates include, for example, of plastic, composite materials, or natural materials. The plates can be arranged in such a way that joints are created thereinbetween, the outer layer thus being provided with a certain elasticity in order to cater for different head shapes and sizes.
