  • Patent number: 11415154
Abstract: A hydraulic system is provided. The hydraulic system may include a fluid pressure source in fluid communication with a supply line, a return line in fluid communication with a tank, a hydraulic function having a workport, a first control valve having a first proportional solenoid, a second control valve having a second proportional solenoid, and a controller. The controller being configured to selectively energize the first proportional solenoid, the second proportional solenoid, or the first proportional solenoid and the second proportional solenoid to control a system pressure differential, defined between the return line and the workport, within a range that is defined by a sum of a first predefined range defined by the first control valve and a second predefined range defined by the second control valve.

  • Patent number: 7854115
Abstract: An array of valve sections in a hydraulic system are connected to a supply line, a tank return line, and a load sense line. One valve sections includes a control valve with a metering orifice through which fluid flows from the supply line to a valve outlet. A load sense node is coupled by a load sense orifice to the load sense line. A load sense pressure limiter prevents pressure at the load sense node from exceeding a threshold level. A pressure compensator is connected in a fluid path between the valve outlet and one of the hydraulic actuators. The pressure compensator opens and closes the fluid path in response to pressure at the valve outlet and pressure at the load sense node, thereby governing the maximum amount of pressure that the respective valve section can apply to the hydraulic actuator.

  • Patent number: 7818966
Abstract: A hydraulic valve assembly includes a pressure compensating valve in which a compensator spool is slideably received in a bore. A pre-compensator gallery connected to a metering orifice, a preload gallery leading to a hydraulic actuator, an auxiliary pump supply passage, and a load sense passage all open into the bore. The compensator spool moves in response to a pressure differential between the pre-compensator gallery and the load sense passage. That movement selectively opens and closes a first path between the pre-compensator gallery and the a preload gallery, and a second path between the auxiliary supply passage and the load sense passage. Control of these paths maintains a constant pressure drop across the metering orifice and generates a pressure signal that is employed to regulate pressure at an outlet of a pump.

  • Patent number: 6505645
Abstract: A valve assembly has a single piece body that houses a plurality of hydraulic valves. Each valve includes a spool which controls the flow of fluid between a pair of work ports in one side of the body and a pump inlet and a tank outlet. The valves are operated by selectively applying pressurized fluid to one end or the other of the spool. That pressure is provided by a conduit or a pilot valve that is attached to a control port in the one side of the body. Because the majority of the connections to the valve assembly are made to the one side of the body access is only required to that side.
