  • Patent number: 7997362
Abstract: A device for coupling a universal joint shaft to a power take-off shaft (1) of a tractor has a first coupling mechanism (48) that is non-rotatably arranged on the universal joint shaft. A second coupling mechanism (17) is non-rotatably arranged on the power take-off shaft (1) of the tractor. The first and second coupling mechanisms can be non-rotatably coupled to transmit torque. A coupling shield (7) is provided to couple the coupling mechanism (17, 48). The first coupling mechanism (48) is at least indirectly rotationally supported on the coupling shield (7). A locking mechanism (58, 58?) projects from the coupling shield (7). A bracket (2) is attachable on the rear of the tractor. The bracket (2) has at least one locking device (5, 5?) that is displaceable between an unlocked position and a locked position. The locking device (5, 5?) is displaced from the unlocked position into the locked position.

  • Patent number: 7168545
Abstract: A coupling, used in drivelines or for driving agricultural implements, has a first coupling element (1) and a second coupling element (2). An actuating element (4) is axially displaceable relative to the first coupling element (1) between a switched-on position and a switched-off position. A power drive (5) actively displaces the actuating element (4). The power drive (5) loads the actuating element (4) in the switched-on position against an abutment mechanism (31, 36). A first spring (6), in the switched-on position of the actuating element (4), loads the friction assembly (3). This enables the friction assembly (3) to assume the torque transmitting position.

  • Publication number: 20050115789
Abstract: A coupling, used in drivelines or for driving agricultural implements, has a first coupling element (1) and a second coupling element (2). The coupling elements (1, 2) are arranged to be rotatable relative to one another around an axis of rotation Z. A friction assembly (3) can be loaded to transmit torque between the first coupling element (1) and the second coupling element (2) to assume a torque transmitting position. An actuating element (4) is axially displaceable relative to the first coupling element (1) between a switched-on position and a switched-off position. In the switched-on position, the friction assembly (3) is loaded to assume the torque transmitting position. A power drive (5) displaces the actuating element (4). The power drive (5) loads the actuating element (4) in the switched-on position against an abutment mechanism (31, 36). The abutment mechanism (31, 36) delimits the displacement path of the actuating element (4) and holds the actuating element (4) in the switched-on position.

  • Patent number: 6896621
Abstract: A torque limiting coupling has a first coupling hub (2) with first driving members (10), and a second coupling hub (27) with second driving members (35). The hubs (2, 27) are jointly received in a coupling sleeve (46) and are rotatable independently of one another. When a set torque is exceeded while the first coupling hub (2) is driven in one of two driving directions of rotation N1 or N2, the second coupling hub (27) is subjected to a force which ensures that, in the driving direction of rotation N1, the driving members (10) of the first coupling hub (2) are transferred into the disconnected position and that, in the driving direction of rotation N2, the second driving members (35) of the second coupling hub (27) are transferred into the disconnected position.

  • Patent number: 6773199
Abstract: A coupling, especially a torque limiting coupling, has a coupling housing (2) and an inner coupling member (10) received therein. The inner coupling member (10) connects to a drive shaft. Torque transmitting elements (12), active in the form of locking members, are positioned between the inner coupling member (10) and the coupling housing (2). The coupling housing (2) has a connecting bore portion (6) which receives a connecting portion (19) of a connecting element (18). The outer contour (10) of the connecting portion (19) follows the inner contour (9) of the coupling housing (2) in the area of the connecting bore portion (6). The connecting portion (19) is accommodated with a radial clearance. Thus, radial displacements, circumferential displacements as well as angular displacements are possible between the coupling housing (2) and the connecting element (18).

  • Publication number: 20030087703
Abstract: A coupling assembly for agricultural implements has a friction coupling (1), an electromagnet (6) and control mechanism (7). The friction coupling (1) includes a friction assembly (4) which is loaded by a pressure plate (14). The pressure plate (14) is loaded by pressure springs (15, 16). The pressure plate (14) is adjustable by an actuating device (5) which includes an electromagnet (6) and an anchor plate (19). The control mechanism (7) includes a control member (27) which, by changing the electric current, regulates the pressure force of the pressure plate (14) during the coupling and/or uncoupling operation. The housing (2) and the hub (3) are associated with speed sensors (25, 26) which transmit a signal to the control mechanism (7) to relieve the load on the friction assembly. Thus, this prevents the friction coupling (1) from overheating.

  • Patent number: 6406375
Abstract: A protective device for a driving assembly with a double universal joint has a protective cone (13) made of plastic. At a first axial end, the protective cone (13) is secured to a bearing assembly (12). At its second axial end (16), the protective cone (13) carries a guiding ring (18). Folds (15) are arranged between the axial ends. A hollow-spherical-zone-like inner bearing face (19) of the guiding ring (18) is arranged on a spherical outer bearing face (26) of a bearing race (25). A sliding ring (30) in the bearing race (25) is supported in a bearing groove (27) of the double yoke (2) of the double universal joint (1). The guiding ring (18) is pre-tensioned by the folds (15) of the protective cone (13) and thus held in contact with the outer bearing face (26). The guiding ring (18) can be removed from the bearing assembly, thus making components of the double universal joint accessible for maintenance purposes, such as lubrication.

  • Patent number: 5702306
Abstract: A protective device for telescopic driveshafts used in driving agricultural implements has two protective tubes (8, 9) which are axially inserted into, and overlap, one another. The tubes (8, 9) are adjustable relative to one another along their longitudinal axis (5) and are made of plastics. The outer protective tube (8) includes three circumferentially distributed pairs of ribs ( 13, 14). The ribs (13, 14) are arranged at a distance from one another and a groove (11) is formed between the ribs (13, 14). Guiding webs (15) are provided between pairs of ribs ( 13, 14). The webs (15) project inwardly towards the longitudinal axis (5) from the inner face (12) of the outer protective tube (8). The webs (15) also project inwardly towards the longitudinal axis (5) and serve to center and radially support the tube (9). The outer face of the outer protective tube has a smooth finish. Thus, there are no projections which may possibly injure the operative when unintentionally rotating the protective device.

  • Patent number: 5462303
Abstract: A side strut 6 for the lower steering arm of a three-point attaching device of a tractor is telescopic and has a first telescopic member 14 and a second telescopic member 15 which are able to carry out relative movements relative to one another along an adjustment axis 16. A locking pawl 19 may allow maximum possible relative movement or a limited amount of travel. Complete locking is also possible. For setting the various positions which the locking pawl 19 is able to assume relative to the telescopic members 14, 15, a fixing device 31 is provided which takes account of the respective stop regions 24, 30 for the locking pawl 19 or which, for the purpose of allowing the entire relative movement between the maximum limits, may be disengaged from the locking stops 23. This measure, in addition to permitting standard adjustment within the limits of the usual floating movement, allows a limited floating movement. Furthermore, it achieves complete locking and fixing in this position.
