Abstract: The present invention provides a method of managing a connection of a user equipment, UE, device to a core network, the UE device being capable of establishing a connection to the core network using a mobile communication system network and of establishing a connection to the core network via a network other than the mobile communication system network, the method comprising having established a first connection to the core network via the network other than the mobile communication system network, in response to receiving a request from a base station of the mobile communication system to establish a second connection to the base station via the network other than the mobile communication system network, informing the core network of a temporary suspension of the first connection and storing context information of the first connection for a future resumption of the first connection.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a time-gated fast neutron transmission radiography system and method. The system makes use of a pulsed neutron source for producing neutrons in a plurality of directions, with at least a subplurality of the neutrons being directed at an object to be imaged. The system also includes a neutron detector system configured to time-gate the detection of neutrons emitted from the pulsed neutron source to within a time-gated window.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method of selecting a UE device to act as a relay between an internet connected server and a remote UE device, the method comprising: at a time determined by a knowledge of when the remote UE device will enter an active state identifying one or more UE devices in a vicinity of a known location of the remote UE device which are able to act as relay devices; selecting one or more of the identified UE devices to establish a connection with the remote UE device; and instructing the one or more selected UE devices to establish a connection with the remote UE device to provide the relay.

Abstract: A delta-sigma modulator which receives an input signal. The input signal is combined with a feedback signal and the combined signal is filtered by the delta-sigma modulator. The filtered signal is quantized, wherein the feedback signal is generated on the basis of the quantized signal. The quantized signal is output as an output signal. The input signal and/or the filtered signal and/or the feedback signal are filtered in such a way that at least one frequency in an out-of-band frequency range of the input signal is amplified in order to suppress out-of-band quantization noise at the at least one frequency.

Abstract: The present invention provides a resource controller for resource management in a telecommunication network, the telecommunication network providing a first set of resources for cellular communication and a second set of resources for direct device-to-device, D2D, communication between UEs, the resource controller comprising a measurement request unit being arranged to request a measurement be performed by at least one user equipment, the measurement indicating a capacity utilization of the second set of resources; and a resource pool adaption unit being arranged to adapt the first set of resources and the second set of resources as a function of the performed measurement. In particular, where no resources are available for D2D communication, a UE may request a bearer setup and in response suitable resources for D2D communication are provided.
