  • Patent number: 5713102
Abstract: An apparatus for cleaning exposed film includes a dry cleaning unit including at least a first dry cleaning station comprising an ionization unit having an electrostatic discharge device and means for removing discharged dust particles from the film. A roller driven by a drive motor draws the film from an unwinding reel through the dry cleaning unit. A film take-up reel driven by a controlled drive motor is disposed downstream of the driven roller. The controlled drive motor is controlled so that a tensile force acting on the film remains uniform as a diameter of the film winding on the film take-up reel varies. A satisfactory cleaning of the film is thus achieved, even when cleaning old and heavily-soiled films, together with a reliable take-up of the cleaned film without a danger of film breakage in the film cleaning apparatus.

  • Patent number: 3986035
Abstract: A vacuum film holder for housing X-ray films and intensifying foils for radiographic purposes comprises two separate superimposed plates for sandwiching therebetween X-ray sensitive films and intensifying foils and an elastomeric sealing body arranged in the gap formed between the plates and surrounding a predetermined area. The sealing body is affixed to one of the plates and engages under pressure the other of said plates in response to evacuation of the cavity formed between the pair of plates.

  • Patent number: 3940629
Abstract: A device for closing and opening X-ray film holders is provided with a pressure plate and a flexible partition separating the device into a main compartment and an auxiliary compartment. Each of said compartments is provided with means allowing the particular compartment to be evacuated and to be exposed to air under atmospheric pressure, irrespective of the condition of vacuum and/or pressure prevailing in the other of said compartments.
