  • Publication number: 20240305091
Abstract: A method for monitoring the integrity of a control device is provided. The control device is operated in an on-board electrical system of a vehicle. At least one parallel circuit including a current-limiting unit and an electronic switching unit is arranged in a power path of the control device. A control unit can switch on and off the switching unit. Furthermore, a threshold value for an electrical power path current that flows in the power path when each switching unit is switched off is specified for the control device. A present current value of the power path current flowing in the power path is determined every time that, or regularly while, each switching unit is switched off. When the control unit is supplied with an activation signal, each switching unit is switched on by the control unit only if the respectively present current value is lower than the threshold value.

  • Patent number: 11908716
Abstract: Methods and systems for monitoring etch or deposition processes using image-based in-situ process monitoring techniques include illuminating a measurement area on a sample disposed in a process chamber. The measurement area is illuminated using an input beam generated remote from the process chamber and transmitted to a first viewing window of the process chamber by a first optical fiber. Portions of the first input beam reflected from the measurement area are transmitted from the first viewing window to an imaging sensor by a second optical fiber. A sequence of images is obtained at the imaging sensor, and a change in reflectance of pixels within each of the images is determined. The etch or deposition process is monitored based on the change in reflectance.

  • Publication number: 20200006034
Abstract: A method of characterizing a region in a sample under study, and related systems, is disclosed. In once aspect, the sample under study comprises a first region having first crystalline properties and a second region having second crystalline properties. The method comprises irradiating the sample under study with an electron beam, the average relative angle between the electron beam and the sample under study being selected so that a contribution in the backscattered or forward scattered signal of the first region is distinguishable from that of the second region. The method further comprises detecting the backscattered or forward scattered electrons, and deriving a characteristic of the first and/or the second region from the detected backscattered or forward scattered electrons. The instantaneous relative angle between the electron beam and the sample under study is modulated with a predetermined modulation frequency during the irradiating the sample under study with an electron beam.

  • Patent number: 10439523
Abstract: In a method for controlling an operation of an electric motor, electric voltages applied to electric phases of the electric motor are generated and output in a modulation in a controlled manner dependent on a rotor position of the electric motor and a target/actual comparison of at least one first variable which characterizes a load on the electric motor or an actual rotational speed of the electric motor. A rotor position angle, which characterizes the rotor position, is complemented with a specified preliminary control angle and another regulated preliminary control angle component upon reaching a field weakening range of the electric motor so as to form a sum angle. The sum angle is used to characterize the rotor position in the modulation upon reaching the field weakening range. The disclosure also relates to a device for controlling an operation of an electric motor.

  • Patent number: 10243496
Abstract: A method controls the operation of an electric motor. Wherein electrical voltages applied to electrical phases of the electric motor are produced and output in a controlled manner in a modulation on the basis of a rotor position of the electric motor, on the basis of a set point/actual comparison, which is performed in a control loop with a speed controller, for a speed of the electric motor and on the basis of a set point/actual comparison. A set point value at the input of the current regulator is formed by multiplying a present duty factor for the modulation by a first manipulated variable applied to the output of the speed controller. The first manipulated variable of the speed controller becomes an equivalent phase current root mean square value for the electric motor in the underlying current regulator by the multiplication by the present duty factor.
