  • Publication number: 20220204712
Abstract: A method for modifying a polymer carrier material for use as a stationary phase in an analytical or preparative separating method, the method comprising the steps of: providing a polymer carrier material, which is at least partly formed of aromatic hydrocarbon compounds comprising at least two vinyl or allyl substituents; producing hydroxy groups on/in the polymer carrier material by a method comprising an oxidative treatment of the polymer carrier material and a subsequent reductive or hydrolytic treatment of the reaction product; reacting the product from the previous step with a polyfunctional compound. The invention also relates to a polymer carrier material for use as a stationary phase in an analytical or preparative separating method, in particular a chromatography method, produced according to a method according to the invention.

  • Publication number: 20090118382
Abstract: The invention relates to ion-exchange materials comprising a hydrophobic support resin having grafted side chains, wherein the side chains have a surfactant-type structure and comprise ion-exchange groups, and the ion-exchange material is obtainable by radical grafting of the side chains using a radical initiator containing at least one peroxide group. By means of the surfactant-type structure and the specific radical initiator, a regiospecific and particularly uniform arrangement of the side chains on the support resin is achieved which in addition enables outstanding and uniform hydration of the ion-exchange groups. This is expressed, in particular, in improved signal asymmetries for bromide and nitrate.

  • Patent number: 7019040
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of porous polymer particles based on acrylate and/or methacrylate, comprising the steps of provision of a reaction mixture comprising at least one monomer chosen from the group consisting of acrylate and methacrylate compounds, and at least one monoterpene as porogen and of polymerization with the formation of porous polymer particles based on acrylate and/or methacrylate. The present invention also covers the porous polymer particles based on acrylate and/or methacrylate prepared in this way.
