Abstract: A method for evaluating spectra of a biological substance of animal and/or vegetable origin, may include (a) detecting a spectrometer in a network formed of at least one spectrometer and an input/output device, (b) requesting the individual status of each spectrometer in the network of (a), and displaying the detected spectrometers and their status on the input/output device, the status reflecting if a spectrometer is available for recording a spectrum or not, (c) receiving a selection from the spectrometers being available for recording a spectrum on the input/output device, (d) recording a spectrum of a sample material of animal origin, vegetable origin or a mixture thereof on the spectrometer selected in (c), (e) predicting a value for at least one parameter from the spectrum of (d) by a calibration function and/or calibration graph suitable for predicting the parameter value, and (e) displaying the result from (e) on the input/output device.

Abstract: Systems and methods for generating a cross-plant bill of materials (BOM) for a particular final end product that can be used by a central business system for performing various business analysis and processes quickly and efficiently are disclosed. The cross-plant BOM can include information from multiple bills of materials (BOMs) for multiple component products produced by multiple manufacturing plants. The list of manufacturing plants participating in the production of a particular end product is referred to as a plant group for business entities. The BOMs for the component products produced by various plants within the plant group for a final end product are inserted into or associated with the BOM for the final end product that includes the component products.

Abstract: Techniques for bill of material (BOM) low-level code harmonization are disclosed. The BOMs from different sources for each product are ranked according to corresponding low-level codes of the end product. The BOMs are scanned in order to determine the lowest low-level code for all BOMs for a particular product. The BOMs for the particular product are then associated with the lowest low-level code. Once all the BOMs for each product are assigned the lowest low-level code for that product, then the BOMs are rescanned in the ranked order to determine the lowest low-level code associated with each end product in BOMs in which the end products are included as components. Each BOM for each end product is then associated with lowest low-level code from the BOM in which the end product is listed as a component. The harmonized low-level codes are used for determination of eligibility for preferential customs duties.

The framework is flexible enough for users to easily develop their own preference schemes for new preference agreements. Users may first define (or modify) their responsible areas for preference management by assigning (or removing) administrative units of a business to themselves. Then the users may begin the preference processing by choosing one of their assigned administrative units and any preference agreements relevant to that administrative unit may be automatically determined for possible following steps in preference processes which can now be started.

In response to a request for past information, steps are taken to acquire past data, acquire past change data, and create a temporary object to simulate the object that would have existed at the specific time requested.

Consistent with one implementation, a method of outputting data on a graphical user interface is provided. The method comprises retrieving data descriptive of an object from a data repository, transferring the data as an ordered plurality of rows of data to a drop down list box, and displaying the drop down list box on the graphical user interface. Consistent with another implementation, a method of displaying a screen view on a graphical user interface of a computer system is provided. The method comprises defining a screen element allowing display of data, assigning a drop down list box attribute to the screen element, configuring the screen element to suppress data input to the screen element, and displaying the screen element on the graphical user interface.

In one implementation, an electronic database is utilized that contains at least one of purchase order data sets and goods receipt data sets that include information about vendors and about goods purchased from the vendors. The electronic database may be accessed to assemble a worklist from the information included in the data sets. The worklist may define a plurality of processing packages associated with individual vendors and indicate the goods purchased from the vendors. The processing packages on the worklist may then be processed in a batch process to generate the vendor declaration requests.
