Abstract: The aqueous paste contains an alkyl glucoside as non-ionic surfactant and an .alpha.-sulfofatty acid disalt as anionic surfactant; a thickener, for example carboxymethy cellulose, may also be present for adjusting viscosity. The paste-form detergent is produced by mixing concentrated aqueous pastes of the surfactants and, optionally, the thickener, the pH optionally being adjusted to a substantially neutral value by addition of a regulator. The paste-form detergents are suitable both for the washing of laundry and for the washing of hard surfaces, for example dishes.

Abstract: Soiled textile articles are washed by the addition of a determined amount of a detergent concentrate containing surfactants to the textile articles to be cleaned while the textiles are dry or only damp. The aqueous washing liquor is formed by the gradual addition of water to the textile articles while they are rotated. At room temperature, the detergent concentrate is to a substantial extent a paste-to dough-like substance, stable in form, and is applied to the textile articles in such an amount that the major portion of the surfactants together with further detergent constituents, if desired, are applied to the textiles or on an article of textile provided with markings for the correct detergent dose, as a dosing aid.

Abstract: Long-chain hydroxyalkyl ether amines corresponding to the general formulaR.sup.1 --CHOH--CH.sub.2 --(O--CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --).sub.X NR.sup.2 R.sup.3are suitable as wetting agents for textile products of all kinds and are distinguished by particularly low-foaming behavior. In the formula, R.sup.1 is a linear C.sub.6 -C.sub.22 alkyl group, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 independently of one another represent a linear or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl radical, and x is a number of 3 to 20.

Abstract: A process for cleaning a soiled solid molded article in an aqueous detergent wash bath in the presence of ultrasound whereby pigmented and/or fatty soils are loosened from the soiled article. The wash bath is contacted with a soil-collecting polyfunctional quaternary ammonium compound which is at least substantially insoluble and/or is fixed to a solid which is substantially insoluble in the wash bath to collect from the wash bath at least a portion of the soils loosened from the article.

Abstract: The method of using polyfunctional quaternary ammonium compounds which are at least substantially insoluble in an aqueous fabric detergent solution and/or are fixed to solids correspondingly insoluble in such aqueous solution, as a soil-collecting, concentration-reducing agent for reducing the demand for conventional detergent components in the aqueous solution.

Abstract: Detergents on the basis of anionic and nonionic surfactants contain as laundering power-enhancing additives an aliphatic amine compound which is selected such that its pK.sub.b value is at least equal to 14, minus the initial pH value of a 1% aqueous solution of the detergent containing the amine compound. Laundering power-enhancing amine compounds selected according to the rule mentioned are certain ether amines, amidoamines, glucamine derivatives or morpholine derivatives.

Abstract: The process of regenerating a soil-laden detergent solution comprising contacting said solution with a soil collector comprising a polyfunctional quaternary ammonium compound which is at least substantially insoluble in the solution and/or immobilized on a solid correspondingly insoluble in the solution.

Abstract: Soil-collecting detergency enhancers for detergent solutions comprising a substantially water-insoluble polyfunctional quaternary ammonium compound or a water-soluble polyfunctional quaternary ammonium compound fixed to a water-insoluble solid carrier. The detergency enhancers may be used in the cleaning of soiled articles, particularly those soiled with pigments, in aqueous detergent solutions such as for washing fabrics.

Abstract: 2-benzyl-1-alkanol polyglycol ethers having the formula: ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 is a C.sub.6 to C.sub.22 alkyl group; R.sup.2 is a C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 alkylene group; and n is an integer from 1 to about 100.The products are produced by heating a mixture of a ratio of an alcohol having the formula:R.sup.1 --CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 OHwherein the symbol R.sup.1 has the same meaning as above with a ratio of from about 1 mole to about 10 moles, preferably 1 to 3 moles, of benzyl alcohol to a temperature of from about 180.degree. C. to 250.degree. C. in the presence of an alkali metal compound, and optionally a hydrogenation catalyst; separating the excess benzyl alcohol from the mixture and alkoxylating the alcohol thus obtained.The polyglycol ether are used as wetting agents, dispersants, emulsifiers and detergents.

Abstract: A method for inhibiting corrosion of nonferrous metals in contact with circulating water comprising the steps of adding to circulating water in contact with non-ferrrous metals from 0.05 to 10 gm/m.sup.3 of at least one 3-amino-5-alkyl-1,2,4-triazole wherein said alkyl has from 2 to 8 carbon atoms and adjusting said water to a pH of from 6 to 10; as well as corrosion inhibiting compositions containing said 3-amino-5-alkyl-1,2,4-triazole.
