  • Publication number: 20240351972
Abstract: A process for performing a heterogeneously catalysed reaction for the oxidative esterification of aldehydes to carboxylic esters can be performed. Against this background, the process has made it possible to keep the heterogeneous, precious metal catalyst used in this method active during operation in a particularly effective manner, in order to lengthen the period between downtimes and to effect particularly sustainable catalyst management. This gives rise to the possibility of performing such processes in a very simple, economically viable and environmentally benign manner.

  • Publication number: 20230256416
Abstract: A new method can be used for producing suitable improved carrier materials as a base material for catalysts for carrying out a direct oxidative esterification. In general, the catalyst is used to convert aldehydes with alcohols in the presence of oxygenic gases directly to the corresponding ester, for example, where (meth)acrolein can be converted to methyl(meth)acrylate. The catalysts used are characterized in particular by high mechanical and chemical stability as well as by good catalytic performance even over very long periods of time. This applies in particular to an improvement of catalyst service life, activity and selectivity in comparison to other catalysts.

  • Patent number: 10906025
Abstract: The present invention relates to novel catalysts for oxidative esterification, by means of which, for example, (meth)acrolein can be converted to methyl (meth)acrylate. The catalysts of the invention are especially notable for high mechanical and chemical stability even over very long periods. This especially relates to an improvement in the catalyst service life, activity and selectivity over prior art catalysts which lose activity and/or selectivity relatively quickly in continuous operation in media having even a small water content.
