    Abstract: A device for monitoring the door area around a that is at least partially glazed door is provided. A transmitter emits a transmission pulse of electromagnetic radiation. An image recorder comprises a receiver matrix having a first receiver blocks which has a plurality of first receivers. The first receivers receive reflected signal components of the transmission pulse. Each first receiver has a memory unit which is designed to integrate and store the reflected signal components received. A control unit triggers a transmission pulse of the transmitter and activates the first receivers for a predetermined first receiving period. An evaluation unit compares topography image data with stored reference image data or compares a respective distance value with a stored reference value for a door area free of objects.

    Abstract: The invention relates to imaging 3-D time-of-flight sensors that are particularly suitable for the detection of objects and individuals in three-dimensional space. This capability results from the basic principle. In each image point of the sensor, the distance to the object located in the observation space is determined by using the propagation time (time of flight) of light pulses. The sensor therefore supplies a three-dimensional image, which can be analyzed by means of suitable processing algorithms.     Abstract: A direction sensitive counting and switching device has an optical system which includes a convex lens and a passive infrared detector composed of sensor elements arranged in at least one double row. The detector is disposed on one side of the convex lens for detecting radiation transmitted along a beam path from persons or objects moving through a detection area of the detector located on the other side of the convex lens and producing output signals in response to the detected radiation. A preamplifier is coupled to the detector for producing amplified output signals from the output signals. An evaluation circuit is coupled to the preamplifier for processing the amplified output signals of the sensor elements and, if the amplified output signals permit a conclusion as to directional movement of a person or object in the detection area of the detector, initiates a counting or a switching process which contains information about direction of movement of the respective person or object in the detection area.
