    Abstract: A system that provides a graphical user interface showing relationships between effective dated objects in an object oriented system and showing modifications to the objects over time. The interface displays an effective dated tree control of persistent objects. The control shows past, current and future events associated with the objects represented in the control. Related persistent objects are found in a database and marked as active responsive to the effective dates. The objects can be selected (“clicked-on”) and additional details of the objects are displayed.
