  • Patent number: 11970380
Abstract: A container-handling apparatus, in particular a closing machine for closing cans or similar containers with a closure cap. A transfer element is provided between at least two adjacent container-closing positions. The transfer element surrounds at least part of the circumference of the respective container carrier and is provided so as to rotate with, i.e., revolve with, the container-closing positions. Furthermore, the upper side of the transfer element forms a transfer plane for transferring the upright containers in a planar manner from the transport plane onto the transfer plane spanned by the transfer element. The transfer plane and the transport plane are coplanar, spanning a common plane.

  • Patent number: 10873173
Abstract: In conventional hybrid lasers large back refection may lead to a degradation of relative intensity noise (RIN), linewidth broadening, mode hopping, etc. To solve the aforementioned problem a hybrid laser includes a mode converter for converting a higher-back-reflection mode of the light to a mode providing less back reflection to the gain chip. The mode converter may comprise a polarization rotator, a waveguide converter, or high-order mode converter. A routing waveguide may be provided including a phase shifter, e.g. a doped waveguide, for adjusting a cavity length of the laser cavity.

  • Patent number: 7010026
Abstract: A voice and data communication system whereby a line card digitizes and packetizes voice communications signals upon the failure of Customer Premises Equipment (CPE). The system comprises a line card for coupling the CPE with a network. Furthermore, the invention provides a system that can direct the voice signals to either or both of a voice network and a data network.

  • Patent number: 6873623
Abstract: A digital subscriber line access multiplexer overlay onto a digital loop carrier system for transporting high speed digital data over an existing backplane which carries voice, data, and test signals between voice line cards and a carrier line. The voice signals are time division multiplexed into frames. The system includes a data bus interface for impressing the high speed data on a subset of existing backplane buses for transport along the backplane and for retrieving high speed digital data from the backplane buses. The system further includes a plurality of data line cards for connecting to the backplane and backplane subset conductors, the data line cards being adapted to couple the high speed data between the subscriber line and the backplane, whereby the high speed digital data can be routed over the backplane subset to any of the digital data line cards without interfering with the voice signals routed to voice line cards.

  • Publication number: 20020027900
Abstract: Line interface for coupling a twisted pair telephone line with a communications network. The line interface includes a broadband analog front end for coupling the twisted pair telephone line with the line interface, and a programmable filter for filtering frequency bands to separate transmission channels, the transmission channels located in the communications network, wherein the frequency bands are determined by the programmable filter. In this manner, various services can be provided over the twisted pair telephone line.

  • Publication number: 20020009180
Abstract: A system for providing at least one telephone service in a multiservice communication system, the system comprising a combiner for combining a plurality of services for delivery between a source and a user along a common line. A decombiner recovers the plurality of services from the common line, a detector detects a failure condition in at least one of the combiner or the decombiner, and a switch responsive to the detected failure bypasses the failed combiner or decombiner to couple at least one service determined to be critical between the source and the user. This allows an improved response to loss of power than many exiting systems.

  • Patent number: 6295343
Abstract: An integrated line card for providing an analog termination for both POTS and xDSL signals that present the appropriate impedances at xDSL frequencies for the xDSL signals and appropriate impedances at POTS frequencies for POTS signals. The line card comprises a front end for coupling combined POTS and xDSL transceiver circuits to a telephone line at a single termination and an impedance generator responsive to the frequency range of the POTS and the xDSL circuits for generating the appropriate impedances on the line at xDSL frequencies for xDSL signals and the appropriate impedances at POTS frequencies for POTS signals, such that the signals are coupled to the card without the use of a splitter. Preferably, the xDSL circuits and the POTS circuits share a common driver for driving signals onto the loop. An advantage of this arrangement is that the two circuits may be designed together thus ensuring out-of-band noise generated by either source does not interfere with the other.
