  • Patent number: 9300566
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for controlling, by a central control entity (200), a topology change in a network having a ring topology with a plurality of ring nodes (110-150) via which data packets of various data transfers are transmitted to their corresponding destination nodes. The method comprising the steps of receiving information about a topology change of the ring topology of the network, determining which of the data transfers are affected by the topology change, determining, for each of the affected data transfers, a new path through the network, determining new switching instructions for ring nodes (110-150) that are affected by the new paths determined for the affected data transfers, and transmitting the new switching instructions to the affected ring nodes (110-150).

  • Patent number: 9282143
Abstract: Method, apparatuses and computer programs for handling data related to users of a communications system comprising: a database server storing data related to users of the system, and a plurality of service servers. The database server modifies (1103) a first data stored therein for a user according to a received request (1101), and sends a second message (1109) notifying the data modification to a first service server comprising: an identifier of the user, the first data after the modification, and an identifier of a second service server of the system that handle data related to the user. The first service server sends a third message (2105) to the second service server requesting to modify a data held therein in relationship with said user. Features of the invention help in reducing signaling in layered systems, since additional data are communicated in the second message.

  • Patent number: 9204471
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method of establishing a circuit switched, CS, call to a mobile subscriber of a CS network, wherein the mobile subscriber includes an instant communication client which is adapted to communicate via an instant messaging protocol with an instant communication server. The instant communication server is associated to a hosting switching node of the CS network. A switching node of the CS network receives a CS setup message for terminating a CS call. A switching node of the CS network detects that the mobile subscriber is not reachable over the CS network. The CS setup message is routed to the hosting switching node. A message converter associated to the hosting switching node converts the CS setup message into a converted setup message according to the instant messaging protocol. The instant communication server forwards the converted setup message to the instant communication client.

  • Publication number: 20150341253
Abstract: A method for connecting, by a central control unit (CCU), a booting switch to a network. The network includes switches controlled by the CCU using control data packets that are transmitted via communications paths in the network. User packets are transmitted through the network using the same communications paths. A switch uses forwarding rules stored in a pipeline to forward packets in the network. A local port in each switch provides access to the pipeline. The paths in the network for the control data packets are established by storing forwarding rules configured by the CCU in the pipelines of the switches. At least one switch contains a connecting port via which the booting switch is connected to the network. The forwarding rules in the booting switch are stored by the CCU using a temporary path, which contains the existing path and a connecting path.

  • Patent number: 9191518
Abstract: A routing system transfers data packets of real time communication services of a call, and includes a converter receiving media gateway control protocol encoded first control data and processing the first control data to obtain second control data. The system, based on the first control data, allocates a first transport address for a first routing port for incoming data packets, and allocates a second transport address for a second routing port for outgoing data packets. A central control entity controls a central control entity controlled network of forwarding elements, and determines a static pathway through the network of forwarding elements based on the second control data. A first end of the static pathway corresponds to the first routing port and a second end corresponds to the second routing port. The central control entity controls a data plane flow of a stream of the data packets along the static pathway.

  • Patent number: 9184978
Abstract: A call to a dual mode user equipment is handled by using a further access network from cellular telecommunications access network. An indication of an incoming call to the user equipment is received in a control node that the device can be reached via a device using session initiation protocol (SIP) via the cellular telecommunication access network. The device using SIP sends messages to a device that transforms messages sent according to call control signaling protocol used in the cellular telecommunications network into messages according to SIP. A route to the SIP device is linked to a device that transforms user plane according to protocol in the cellular telecommunications access network into user plane according to internet protocol and vice versa.

  • Patent number: 9155113
Abstract: Embodiments herein include a method of notifying terminals located in a target network area. The method is executed by a call control node. The call control node is associated with a serving network area, wherein the serving network area at least partially comprises the target network area. In order to provide an efficient, easily accomplishable, and network capacity sparing notification of terminals located in a target network area, the method comprises receiving a result of a scanning of a visitor location register database associated with the call control node for terminals registered for the target network area, and sending a notification message to the terminals located in the target network area based on the received result of the scanning.

  • Publication number: 20150103830
Abstract: A method for handling, by a ring node of a network having a ring topology, a data transfer of data packets through the network via which the data packets are transmitted to their destination node, wherein each ring node has two neighbouring ring nodes. The method includes detecting data packets of an incoming data transfer received from a non ring node to be transmitted through the network to their destination node. Furthermore, a ring direction is added to the data packets of the incoming data transfer, the indication indicating in which direction the data packets of the incoming data transfer are passed through the network having the ring topology. The data packets of the incoming data transfer are forwarded to one of the two neighbouring ring nodes based on the added indication.
