  • Publication number: 20050140207
Abstract: A system for controlling at least one of the slip threshold and the time period for an extended wheel slippage for a vehicle that is operating in the off-road ABS mode. When driving in a curve pattern and/or at high speeds, the individual wheel speeds are controlled with a lower slip threshold and/or shorter time period for the extended wheel slippage than when driving straight ahead and/or at a lower vehicle speed.

  • Publication number: 20040032162
Abstract: The invention relates to a motor vehicle comprising a compressed-air braking system. Said vehicle has two braking cylinders, which can be impinged by compressed-air from a compressed-air reserve by means of a manually actuated brake valve. The braking cylinders have ABS pressure-control valves, which can be selectively impinged by compressed air from the compressed-air reserve, using a slip control valve. A stability sensor detects a motor vehicle position and a control device selectively supplies the slip control valve and the ABS pressure-control valves with compressed air, in accordance with the signals of the stability sensor.

  • Publication number: 20030087796
Abstract: The invention relates to novel aromatic compositions consisting of HLA molecules, which two different potential perfume carriers are assigned. The invention aims at developing novel aromatic compositions consisting of HLA molecules based on the selection of alleles of genes which are relevant from an olfactory viewpoint and subsequent processing thereof. According to the invention, the aromatic compositions are produced by selecting one allele amongst known class I HLA alleles, which differs in at least one characteristic from other alleles of HLA class I molecules and which is present in less than 5% of individuals of the world population; the protein that is coded for by the selected allele undergoes assembly in the presence of &bgr;2-microglobulin (&bgr;2m); the formed HLA class I molecules are purified with the bonded peptides and fragmented with the protease, and the odor-active substances resulting from fragmentation are added as individual components or as a mixture to a cosmetic preparation.

  • Patent number: 6293394
Abstract: A packaging pouch (10) with an integral drinking straw or pouring spout (38,42) and an easy-to-open protective region providing access to the drinking straw or pouring spout, features a first compartment (32) to accommodate the contents e.g. a drink and—separated in a fluid-tight manner—a second compartment (34) to accommodate a tube part (42). The tube (38, 42) leads from the first compartment (32) to the second compartment (34) and is joined in the transition region to the pouch (10) in a fluid-tight manner and features a valve element for opening and closing a through-flow channel (37). At the end projecting into the second compartment the tube features a closure (44,46) which is closed in a fluid-tight manner when the pouch is in the unopened state and contains a valve element (58, 56) which, under the action of pressure from the side, frees a through-flow channel (37) and which closes automatically.

  • Patent number: 6244673
Abstract: A method and a device are described for traction control in a motor vehicle that is equipped with an anti-lock system. When the brake pedal is depressed and an unallowable slip occurs on at least one driving wheel, the brake pressure built up by the driver is controlled in the wheel brake associated with this wheel by setting the associated valve arrangement for traction control. This brake pressure control only takes place if at least one of the following criteria is met: the driver has actuated an additional switching element, the vehicle speed is less than a predefined threshold value, a predefined time period has not elapsed, and/or the gas pedal has been depressed.

  • Patent number: 5884719
Abstract: When at least one drive wheel is showing a tendency to spin, at least the torque of the drive unit of the vehicle is influenced so as to reduce the tendency to spin. The tendency to spin is recognized when the slip of at least one of the drive wheels exceeds a predetermined desired value, where this desired value is adjustable as a function of at least one operating variable. This minimum of one operating variable is associated with the drive power called for by the driver, and is based on at least one of gas pedal position and engine rpm. The desired slip is increased in the range of higher power demands to improve the traction.

  • Patent number: 5727710
Abstract: Gas-tight container featuring an outer shell of metal or metal and plastic or metal and cellulose-containing material, a base, a lid and at least one side-wall. The container may be e.g. a can with, as viewed in plan view, a polygonal, round or oval cross-section. The base or part of the base of the gas-tight container exhibits a region which may be made to bulge and which is surrounded by an endless depression and, in the condition in which the can may be used, is in the form of a concave bulge. A container of this kind is such that one can readily recognize if the contents have suffered from spoiling or decomposition and, as a consequence, gas has been formed inside the container. If the pressure inside the container increases, the bulge is pushed outwards and, usefully, may form a convex bulge.

  • Patent number: 4995957
Abstract: An electrophoretic separation apparatus suitable for the separation of macromolecules is provided. Electrode elements are provided for generating an electric field for acting on a specimen. Rotating elements are provided for rotating the electrode elements with respect to the specimen. Using this invention, the orientation of the electric field between the electrodes is changed by the rotation of the electrode elements. This arrangement provides a high separating efficiency in a short period of operation. A method for electrophoretic separation of macromolecules is also provided.
