  • Patent number: 10822939
Abstract: Unwanted oscillations of a drill string while a borehole is being drilled are limited by adjusting a drilling parameter. Measurements related to oscillations of the drill string can be extrapolated by calculation to a position of interest along the drill string using a mode identified from one or more determined modes and a stability criterion that models the drill string. The stability criterion includes a specific modal damping for each of the one or more determined modes. The position of interest may correspond to a location of a tool or component that may be damaged by the unwanted oscillations. If the tool or component can be damaged by the oscillations as calculated, then the drilling parameter is adjusted to limit those oscillations.

  • Patent number: 10825987
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for fabrication of memory cells are described. An electrode layer may have an initial thickness variation after being formed. The electrode layer may be smoothened prior to forming additional layers of a memory cell, thus decreasing the thickness variation. The subsequent layer fabricated may have a thickness variation that may be dependent on the thickness variation of the electrode layer. By decreasing the thickness variation of the electrode layer prior to forming the subsequent layer, the subsequent layer may also have a decreased thickness variation. The decreased thickness variation of the subsequent layer may impact the electrical behavior of memory cells formed from the subsequent layer. In some cases, the decreased thickness variation of the subsequent layer may allow for more predictable voltage thresholds for such memory cells, thus increasing the read windows for the memory cells.

  • Patent number: 10820916
Abstract: A novel coplanar X-ray guided method and device for insertion of distal locking screws in intramedullary bone nails. The device has coplanar holes, which allow insertion of protective sleeves. A drill and bone screws can be inserted through the protective sleeves. Radiopaque target markers in the aiming arm enable the easy positioning of an X-ray source such that an X-ray beam is coplanar with the aiming arm transverse holes. After the X-ray source is accurately oriented, a single X-ray snapshot is enough to assess the exact distortion of the implanted intramedullary nail. The X-ray beam need not be coaxial with the intramedullary nail holes. The aiming arm has a mobile portion and a fixed portion fastened to the nail, wherein said aiming arm can be adjusted, displacing the mobile portion over the fixed portion, to compensate for the distortion of the intramedullary nail after implantation.

  • Patent number: 10826810
Abstract: A method and apparatus in a receiver to determine if a high speed communication link is in an idle mode or in an active mode. Signals during the idle mode are of lower amplitude and lower frequency compared to amplitude and frequency in the active mode. A signal detector in the receiver determines if the high speed communication link has transitioned from idle mode to active mode and, if so, wakes up high power circuitry in the receiver to receive data.
