  • Publication number: 20200240347
Abstract: A method for model-based control and regulation of an internal combustion engine. An emission class for operating the engine is read from a first library by an optimizer; a maximum mechanical component load is read from a second library by the optimizer using the engine type; and the emission class and the component load are set as mandatory for a combustion model and a gas path model. Injection system target values for actuating injection system actuators are calculated using the combustion model based on a target torque. Gas path target values for actuating gas path actuators are calculated using the gas path model based on the target torque. A quality measurement is calculated by the optimizer based on the injection system and gas path target values. The quality measurement is minimized by the optimizer by changing the injection system and gas path target values within a prediction horizon.

  • Publication number: 20200241524
Abstract: In a precision agriculture application, using an imagery task constraint corresponding to an image capture task, an autonomous vehicle (AV) is selected to perform the task. The AV is caused to perform the task according to the imagery task constraint, causing the AV to autonomously record image data of an area in a field of view of the AV. Image data responsive to the task is received from the AV. From analysis of the image data using a processor and a memory, a material distribution task and a corresponding distribution task constraint are generated. Using the distribution task constraint, a second AV to perform the material application task is selected. The second AV is caused to perform the material distribution task according to the distribution task constraint, causing the autonomous vehicle to autonomously trigger dispersal of a material in an area in a field of view of the autonomous vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20200242003
Abstract: A processor is to execute and retire instructions for a virtual machine. A reload register is coupled to the core is to store a reload value. A performance monitoring counter (PMC) register is coupled to the reload register and an event-based sampler operatively is coupled to the reload register and the PMC register. The event-based sampler includes circuitry to load the reload value into the PMC register and increment the PMC register after detecting each occurrence of an event of a certain type as a result of execution of the instructions. Upon detecting an occurrence of the event after the PMC register reaches a predetermined trigger value, the event-based sampler is to execute microcode to generate field data for elements within a sampling record, wherein the field data relates to a current processor state of execution, and reload the reload value from the reload register into the PMC register.

  • Publication number: 20200241510
Abstract: A method for controlling a machine tool includes processing a parts program by executing non-cyclic preprocessing run tasks and cyclic main run tasks, two master values resulting from the executed preprocessing run tasks are stored in a first buffer memory. A first part of a curve table is generated, which includes a first specification that assigns to a first one of the master values a first coupling value for a coupling axis. The respective cycle of the main run tasks to which the first master value is assigned is then executed, whereafter a second part of the curve table is executed, which includes a second specification that assigns a second coupling value for the coupling axis to a second one of the master values. The second part is stored in the second buffer memory. Considerable savings in time and memory are achieved.
