  • Publication number: 20250013425
Abstract: In general, various aspects of the techniques are directed to rescaling audio element for extended reality scene playback. A device comprising a memory and processing circuitry may be configured to perform the techniques. The memory may store an audio bitstream representative of an audio element in an extended reality scene. The processing circuitry may obtain a playback dimension associated with a physical space in which playback of the audio bitstream is to occur, and obtain a source dimension associated with a source space for the extended reality scene. The processing circuitry may modify, based on the playback dimension and the source dimension, a location of the audio element to obtain a modified location for the audio element, and render, based on the modified location for the audio element, the audio element to one or more speaker feeds. The processing circuitry may output the one or more speaker feeds.

  • Publication number: 20250015904
Abstract: A near-field communication (NFC) device is configured to track the amplitude associated with a received radio frequency (RF) signal while transmitting a different RF signal indicating a command. To this end, the NFC device includes tracking circuitry configured to track the amplitude associated with the received RF signal based on a modulation state indicated by a modulation envelope associated with the transmitted RF signal. In response to the modulation envelope indicating a modulated state, the tracking circuitry enters an idle state and does not track the amplitude associated with the received RF signal. In response to the modulation envelope indicating an unmodulated state, tracking circuitry tracks the amplitude associated with the received RF signal.

  • Publication number: 20250015619
Abstract: For a mobile device having a main battery and a backup power source, a method is provided for wirelessly charging the backup power source using a reader when the main battery of the mobile device is fully depleted and unable to provide enough power for an RF transaction. The reader detects the mobile device cannot perform the RF transaction. In response, the reader generates an RF field that provides charge for the backup power source of the mobile device. After charging is complete, the mobile device performs the RF transaction using the charged backup power source. In one embodiment the mobile device is a mobile phone being used as a digital key and the reader is implemented in a smart door handle of an automobile that is unlocked by the RF transaction.

  • Publication number: 20250011185
Abstract: Techniques disclosed herein relate to sol-gel materials that include at least one metal halide precursor and at least one alcohol. After being annealed, the metal in the metal halide is in at least two different oxidation states, both of which are stable and transparent to visible light. By producing a mixture of the same metal in multiple oxidation states that are all transparent to visible light, an amorphous state of the sol-gel material without any noticeable domain formation that would otherwise distribute stress locally and lead to voiding inside nano-gratings to be overcoated is obtained. Highly condensed states of the sol-gel have refractive index values in the 1.7-2.2 range, without sacrificing recessed-feature fill.

  • Publication number: 20250010337
Abstract: The automated reading of luggage labels in airport baggage handling systems often fails since luggage labels, on which the luggage can be assigned sorting information, cannot be located and/or cannot be read since they are crumpled/creased/partially hidden. Removing and manually processing unreadable luggage items at a manual coding station requires removal conveyor sections, secure access routes and workstations. To increase the proportion of unreadable luggage items, a method and a system locate and handle a luggage label fastened to an item of luggage and which assigns sorting information to the item. If the identifier is not successfully located by a reader, the item is mechanically handled by a handling device. If the identifier is successfully located but the identifier is not successfully read, the identifier is mechanically handled by the handling device independently of the movement of the item. The item is then processed in accordance with its sorting information.
