  • Patent number: 8922568
Abstract: An apparatus for processing data 2 is provided including processing circuitry 24 controlled by an instruction decoder 20 in response to a stream of program instructions. There is also provided dedicated function hardware 12 configured to receive output data from the processing circuitry and to perform a dedicated processing operation. The instruction decoder 20 is responsive to an end instruction 54 and a software processing flag (blend_shade_enabled) to control the processing circuitry to end a current software routine, to generate output data and in dependence upon the software processing flag either trigger processing of the output data by the dedicated function hardware or trigger the processing circuitry to perform a further software routine upon the output data to generate software generated result data instead of hardware generated result data as generated by the dedicated hardware circuitry.

  • Patent number: 8924087
Abstract: A motor vehicle has a plurality of doors, each secured by a lock, peripheral control units, each connected to one of said locks, for sending a command signal to an actuator of the lock, a central control unit for sending command signals to the actuators of the locks, and an accident detector. If the accident detector has detected an accident, at least one of the actuators is switchable from a central operating mode in which it executes command signals of the central control unit and its associated peripheral control unit into a peripheral operating mode in which it executes only command signals from its peripheral control unit.

  • Patent number: 8920988
Abstract: The potential energy from a hydrogen tank is used in a gas jet pump, which draws in anode waste gas via an inlet and recirculates it to an anode inlet. To ensure that this system operates effectively even under low loads, a part of the waste gas is supplied to a compressor, and the compressed waste gas is supplied to the motive jet inlet of a gas jet pump, which may be the same one to which the hydrogen from the tank is also supplied. Different gas jet pumps may also be used, for the hydrogen from the tank on the one hand, and the compressed waste gas on the other hand.

  • Patent number: 8924578
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method for transmitting messages, a transmission message containing one or more useful data objects is first transmitted to a switching component in order to be routed to a second telecommunications device, wherein the transmission is made by a transmitting telecommunications device. A plurality of variants of the one or more useful data objects is created in the switching component in accordance with a set of parameters, the second telecommunications device is then informed of the provision of the plurality of variants of the data objects for transmission to the second telecommunications device. Also, a delivery request message relating to a specific variant of the useful data objects is subsequently sent from the second telecommunications device to the switching component. The switching component then transmits a delivery message containing the requested variant of the useful data objects to the second telecommunications device.

  • Patent number: 8919576
Abstract: A system for moving crates in a warehouse, in which crates (C) to be moved are organized in supply modules (M), each made up of a predetermined number of rows each having a predetermined number of crates. The system includes a translator device (1) for rows of crates that brings about the movement of at least one row of crates, so as to create at least one aisle (W) for passing between one row and another of the module, in which it is possible to gain access through a crates manipulator (3), which is able to move along the module and through the aisles.

  • Patent number: 8923406
Abstract: Video encoding or decoding utilizing a spatial transform operating on rows and columns of a block, with a set of transform skip modes including: transform on rows and columns; transform on rows only; transform on columns only; no transform. An indication of the selected mode is provided to the decoder. Coefficients are scaled by a factor dependent upon the norm of the transform vector of the skipped transform to bring the untransformed image values to the same level as transformed coefficients.

  • Patent number: 8922572
Abstract: The fragment processing pipeline 10 of a graphics processing core 2 has an associated occlusion query cache 19 that is used to maintain a set of local occlusion counters 21. The occlusion query cache 19 is maintained in a local memory 3 of the graphics processing system and can communicate via an interconnect 7 with a set of master occlusion counters 22 in a main memory 5 for the graphics processing system. When an occlusion query starts, a corresponding occlusion counter 22 is initialised in the main memory 5. A corresponding local occlusion counter 21 is also provided in the occlusion query cache 19 in the local memory 3 of the graphics processor, and is used to count the results of the occlusion query. The local occlusion counter value is written back to the occlusion counter 22 for the query in the main memory 5 at the appropriate time for further processing.
