  • Patent number: 12311469
Abstract: A method for preparing a workpiece for separation is provided that includes providing a workpiece that is transparent for light of a pulsed laser beam, splitting the laser beam into two partial beams using an optical system, directing both partial beams onto the workpiece, and moving the workpiece and the partial beams relative to one another. The partial beams are directed onto the workpiece incident at different angles to the normal of the irradiated surface and superimposed inside the workpiece such that the partial beams interfere with one another to form a sequence of intensity maxima inside the workpiece. The intensity at the intensity maxima is sufficiently high to modify the material of the workpiece so that a chain-like periodic pattern of material modifications is formed along a path defining a separation line.

  • Patent number: 12314278
Abstract: Mechanisms are provided to implement a visual analytics pipeline. The mechanisms generate, from an input database of records, a chronology-aware graph data structure of a plurality of records based features specified in an ontology data structure. The chronology-aware graph data structure has vertices representing one or more of events or records based features corresponding to events, and edges representing chronological relationships between events. The mechanisms execute a chronology-aware graph query on the chronology-aware graph data structure to generate a filtered set of vertices and corresponding features corresponding to criteria of the chronology-aware graph query.

  • Patent number: 12311381
Abstract: Apparatus and method for recovering precious metals from contaminated cement, comprising, in order of process, a crusher, in which a cement-metal conglomerate is placed, a sieve, a dispenser, a first container, suitable for collecting the metal on the bottom through the action of a magnetic stirrer, an expander, a second container, a drainage tank, and a sieve. The present invention relates in particular to the recovery of precious metal from the batch of cement contaminated by precious metals, such as platinum, rhodium, gold, or silver. In the production of glass fibers for reinforcement, dies made of an alloy of precious metals, in particular platinum and rhodium, are used. These dies are supported by a special cement structure. During the months of production life of the die, part of the precious metal diffuses into the cement on account of the high temperatures. Given the value of the metals, it is economically advantageous to recover them from the supporting cement at each change of the die.

  • Patent number: 12315614
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed that provide smart alerts to users, e.g., alerts to users about diabetic states that are only provided when it makes sense to do so, e.g., when the system can predict or estimate that the user is not already cognitively aware of their current condition, e.g., particularly where the current condition is a diabetic state warranting attention. In this way, the alert or alarm is personalized and made particularly effective for that user. Such systems and methods still alert the user when action is necessary, e.g., a bolus or temporary basal rate change, or provide a response to a missed bolus or a need for correction, but do not alert when action is unnecessary, e.g., if the user is already estimated or predicted to be cognitively aware of the diabetic state warranting attention, or if corrective action was already taken.
