Abstract: A mobile device generates a 3D reconstruction of a human subject by capturing a video frame sequence of the human subject. A pre-generated marker, which may be reticle or a 3D model of a humanoid, is displayed on the display while capturing the video frame sequence. The human subject is also displayed and the mobile device is held to cause the human subject to be displayed coincidently with the pre-generated marker. The video frame sequence that is captured while the mobile device is held to cause the human subject to be displayed coincidently with the pre-generated marker is used to generate a 3D reconstruction of the human subject, which may then be stored and transmitted to a remote server if desired. Sensors may be used to determine the pose of the mobile device with respect to the human subject, which may then be used to adjust the pre-generated marker appropriately.
