Abstract: A transducer of electrical oscillations to mechanical oscillations, mainly a loudspeaker having in general an elongated oscillating member attached by joints to a surrounding structure in areas of points or lines of specific dynamic balance, like one end, center of mass, center of percussion about a certain point or axis of rotation. At least one electromagnetic actuator is mounted in the area of these balancing points or lines. The use of the principle of the center of percussion is allowing for higher loudspeaker performance.

At least one actuator is mounted in the area of these balancing points or lines. In an alternative to the preferred embodiment of the invention, the oscillating member is built to incorporate at least one cavity filled with air or a fluid different from air or having a certain degree of vacuum in it. In an alternative to the preferred embodiment of the invention the transducer is placed in a position to favor the retention of a heat exchanging fluid, other than magnetic fluid, inside the actuator.

Abstract: A loudspeaker, having a not necessarily rectangular, planar or constant thickness oscillating member, made of relatively thick, low density, stiff, acoustic insulating material, in an elongated form, surrounded by a solid frame, supporting the oscillating member in a minimum number of pivots or flexible elements, placed in areas of points of specific dynamic balance, like one end, center of mass and center of percussion about a certain axis of the oscillating member. The oscillating member is set in vibration by a permanent magnet driver having the voice coil attached to the oscillating member and the permanent magnet assembly supported by a bridge mounted across the frame. In an alternative preferred embodiment the oscillating member is built to incorporate at least one cavity filled with air or a gas different from air.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for assembling a fan grill to a shroud of a fan housing. The apparatus includes a support structure having a moveable carriage disposed in a horizontal plane. The moveable carriage is adapted to align and carry the fan grill and shroud combination. A clamping structure is moveably attached to the support structure and has clamps adapted to clamp the fan grill and shroud combination in a fixed position. A plurality of automatic drivers attached to the clamping structure are moveable in a direction transverse to the horizontal plane of the carriage. The automatic drivers drive a plurality of fasteners into the fan grill and shroud combination. The moveable carriage may be adapted to carry more than one fan grill and shroud combination to allow an operator to load a second fan grill and shroud combination onto the carriage while a first fan grill and shroud combination is engaged by the drivers.
