  • Patent number: 8651089
Abstract: An injection system for an internal combustion engine has a prefeed pump for delivering fuel from a fuel tank, a high pressure pump for delivering the fuel to a fuel accumulator arranged downstream of the prefeed pump, an accumulator return line arranged downstream of the fuel accumulator and used to return the fuel from the fuel accumulator to the fuel tank, and a valve arranged in the accumulator return line and by which the fuel can be optionally supplied to the fuel tank or to a tank bypass line which hydraulically leads to a point between the prefeed pump and the high pressure pump. A pressure relief valve is arranged in the accumulator return line downstream of the valve and upstream of the fuel tank. The pressure relief valve is suitably designed to allow adjustment of a fuel pressure in the accumulator return line upstream of the pressure relief valve.

  • Patent number: 7188790
Abstract: The fuel injection valve, for an internal combustion motor, has a valve body with injection openings (20) at its point. A valve needle has an axial movement within the valve body, with a conical needle point to give a selective blocking and release of the fuel flow through the injection openings. The point of the valve needle has recessed grooves matching each of the injection openings. The width of each groove matches the diameter of an injection opening, with a stepped contour and a curved cross section.

  • Patent number: 7066397
Abstract: The invention relates to a valve, in particular a fuel injection valve for a high-pressure accumulator injection system of an internal combustion engine. Said valve comprises a valve body, provided with a valve body seat and a valve needle, guided over a guiding length in said valve body within a stationary circular cylindrical guiding surface and provided with a valve needle seat for controlling a spray orifice. According to the present invention, a pressure reservoir under high pressure, in the shape of an annular groove arranged coaxially in relation to the guiding surface, is provided in said valve body.

  • Publication number: 20050087621
Abstract: A known control valve, especially for controlling a piston of a pressure intensifier of an injection device for internal combustion engines is already known per se. Said control valve comprises a control valve housing, fluid lines and a control valve piston which can be displaced in a controlled manner in the housing in at least two operational positions. Said piston controls at least the fluidic connection between a first chamber and a second chamber having a first flow rate or a reduced second flow rate. In order to produce said control valve which enables the precise control of the reduced second flow rate and which is simple to construct, a throttle is provided. Said throttle adjusts the reduced second flow rate and is arranged outside the control valve piston and in front of the second chamber.

  • Patent number: 6443374
Abstract: In a nozzle body, a degree of rounding of edges of an entry region of an injection hole duct in the nozzle body is dependent on a distribution of a fuel stream around the entry region. The edges being more rounded, the greater the fuel stream at the respective edge portion is. The entry region of the injection hole duct has, in this case, preferably the form of an ellipse.
