  • Publication number: 20090103763
Abstract: The present invention provides an earphone comprising an electro-active polymer that is adapted such that the outer circumference of a resilient member of the earphone is responsive to an electric voltage, enabling providing essentially sealing the ear canal when the resilient member of the earphone at least partly is inserted in an ear canal of a wearer. The electro-active polymer also enables an improved game and sound experience by providing by synchronizing the outer circumference of the resilient member with the electric signal provided to the earphone.

  • Publication number: 20080026355
Abstract: A method performed by a mobile terminal may include connecting to a network, selecting song lyrics to be downloaded to a mobile terminal, storing the downloaded song lyrics in the mobile terminal; and simultaneously playing a stored song while displaying the downloaded song lyrics on the mobile terminal. A method may also include downloading and displaying lyrics in synchronization with received real-time music.

  • Publication number: 20060282261
Abstract: Processing load in a pitching audio processing device is controlled by varying the sample rate of one or more audio signals at predetermined intervals of pitching to maintain the lowest possible sample rate without loss of audio content. When an overload condition is detected, an early downward change or late upward change in sample rate may be forced to reduce processing load with some loss of audio content. A forced rate change may be applied only to selected audio signal, or to all audio signals being processed.

  • Patent number: 7038119
Abstract: A wavetable synthesizer is controlled by dynamically determining a present CPU loading estimate associated with a song being played by the wavetable synthesizer. An interpolation degree is determined based on the present CPU loading estimate, and the wavetable synthesizer is adjusted to utilize the interpolation degree when playing the song. This technique can be used to enable the wavetable synthesizer to generate a varying number of simultaneous voices at, for example, a highest-quality without exceeding a predetermined maximum permissible CPU load limit.

  • Publication number: 20060005690
Abstract: A sound synthesizer is provided that reduces the computational requirements of a synthesizer with a high degree of polyphony, while ensuring that audible artifacts are kept to a minimum. The synthesizer comprises a plurality of samples stored in a memory; a plurality of voices each comprising means for calculating an output using a plurality of samples selected from the plurality of samples stored in the memory; wherein a voice is active when calculating an output; wherein the number of samples selected by the means for calculating depends upon the number of active voices.
