Abstract: A method for processing value documents and to a value document processing system, involve: ascertaining first identification data by means of which the value documents contained in at least one batch of value documents can be identified, in at least one value document processing device; transmitting the first identification data to an external computing device; ascertaining first sorting data in the external computing device by comparing the transmitted first identification data with specified second identification data by means of which value documents can be identified to be removed from circulation and/or remain in circulation; transmitting the first sorting data from the external computing device to the at least one value document processing device; and sorting the value documents contained in the at least one batch in the at least one value document processing device on the basis of the transmitted first sorting data.

Abstract: A method and a value document processing system for processing value documents include: ascertaining first identification data by means of which the value documents contained in a plurality of different batches can be identified, in at least one value document processing device; generating assignment data; transmitting the first identification data to an external computing device; comparing the transmitted first identification data with specified second identification data by means of which value documents can be identified that are to be removed from circulation and/or are to remain in circulation; and, if the comparison indicates that at least one value document that is to be removed from circulation is contained in the value documents, identifying the batch in which the at least one value document is contained that is to be removed from circulation; and sorting the value documents.

At least one application server is connected to the bank-note processing machine via an external communication network and has implemented thereon at least one further software module which is executed on the application server and provides an application which provides at least one function going beyond the standard operation of the bank-note processing machine. The application provided on the application server involves a configuration application, a serial-number application, a reporting application and/or a servicing application.

The captured image data are processed by means of an image processing device and at least one predetermined gesture is extracted from the processed image data. An input information item for the value-document processing apparatus is then allocated to the extracted gesture. The input information is provided in the value-document processing apparatus and processed there. The input information can represent a control information item or a data input information item.

Abstract: A method is disclosed for improving the control of a project features. The method, in at least one embodiment, includes definition of a Bayesian network, by modeling as external nodes of the Bayesian network each project variable of the project able to be measured and/or influenced, and defining dependencies between the modeled nodes; executing an assignment process by which project variable values which show possible values of the project variables which represent the nodes are assigned to the modeled nodes; calculation of a project variable value of a child project variable based on project variable values of assigned parent project variables and the defined dependencies of the child project variable on the at least one parent project variable, and control of the project using the calculated project variable value.

Abstract: To analyze a complex, parallel system a runtime log is generated in XML or converted to XML after generation. This runtime log is examined for properties of the system. Interesting properties are described with XSLT resources. The XSLT resources are used to filter and display the analysis results visually.
