Abstract: A system and method for measuring a pipe is provided. The system includes a frame rotatably receiving the pipe, a carriage movably positionable along the frame, a guide floatingly positionable about the carriage, at least one sensor for measuring a position of the pipe, and a measurement unit operatively linked to the sensor for collecting measurements therefrom. The guide has a mouth that receivingly engages the pipe and axially aligns therewith. The pipe is measured with the sensor(s) while moving at least one of the pipe, the carriage and the guide.

Abstract: An interactive advertising service may be provided using a software conversation agent configured to promote products and/or services via a trained classifier and a hierarchy of concepts related to the products and/or services. Upon request, an interactive advertisement is provided for display to a remote user via a third-party content page, the advertisement including a first creative asset and a linguistic communication control. A world state is obtained and updated during a conversational interaction with the remote user. When free-form linguistic input is received from the remote user, the input is classified and the world state updated. When the world state matches a product and/or service, the interactive advertisement is updated to display a second creative asset corresponding to the matching product and/or service.

Abstract: In one embodiment, an analytical system for generating and accessing arguments is disclosed. Each argument is associated with a conclusion indicating whether a particular situation will likely have a negative or positive result. One embodiment of the analytical system includes a database for storing a plurality of templates, each template including a plurality of questions which may be answered to generate a particular argument having an associated conclusion that is based on those answers. The analytical system also includes an argument server that includes means for a user to select a template that is most relevant to a particular situation, means for receiving answers to one or more of the selected template's questions such that a new argument is generated having a conclusion based on those answers, and means for associating supporting evidence provided by the user with each answer.

Abstract: Disclosed are apparatus and methods for generating and accessing arguments. In one embodiment, an analytical system for generating and accessing arguments is disclosed. Each argument has an associated conclusion as to whether a particular situation will likely have a negative or positive result is disclosed. The analytical system includes a database for storing a plurality of templates that each include a plurality of questions which may be answered to generate a particular argument having an associated conclusion regarding a particular situation that is based on answers to its associated template questions. The system further includes an argument server for selecting one of the templates which is most relevant to a particular situation and for receiving input to one or more of the selected template's questions to thereby generate a new argument having an associated conclusion based on such answers.

Abstract: A support for a therapeutical magnet formed by a receptacle having the same cross-section as that of a box containing a magnet. The box is formed by two open inverted and facing halves. A coupling between the two halves at the edges thereof. The two halves are stopped by an edging depression made in one of the two halves in which the end of the wall of the other half is coupled. The base of one half of the two halves of the box has a central hollow in which is attached and fixed a transparent sheet of the same thickness as the hollow. Attached to the lower face of the transparent sheet is a printed film, containing information text, covered by an adhesive film on both faces, one of which attaches to the bottom of the hollow and the other to the lower face of the transparent sheet. The base of the support has a passage with two holes through which passes a belt that moves freely through these holes.

Abstract: A magnetic inductor for revitalizing water including a housing which contains two sets of magnets. A chamber between the two sets of magnets contains a central baffle with holes. Water or other fluid enters the chamber through the center of one set of magnets. The flow is slowed inside the chamber by the baffle between the sets of magnets so that the fluid is exposed to the magnetic field in the chamber. The fluid then flows out of the chamber through the center of the second set of magnets. Vortex-shaped protrusions on the baffle assist in directing the fluid flow throughout the chamber. The magnets are protected from the fluid by the housing.
