  • Patent number: 9407454
Abstract: A slot reservation method is disclosed. The slot reservation method generates slot reservations in two dimensions to address starvation and to reduce bounce of messages transmitted through an interconnect. An interconnect implemented using the slot reservation method is capable of being scaled to larger network-on-chip implementations.

  • Patent number: 9294403
Abstract: Methods and apparatus relating to techniques for controlling resource utilization with adaptive routing are described. In one embodiment, an output port for transmission of an incoming message that is to be received at an input port is determined at routing logic. The routing logic selects the output port from a first output port and a second output port based on congestion information that is detected at one or more other routing logic communicatively coupled to the routing logic. The first output port provides a deterministic route for the incoming message and the second output port provides an adaptive route for the incoming message. Other embodiments are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9085026
Abstract: A seaming assembly configured to seam a can end onto a can body to form a seamed container is disclosed. The seaming assembly includes a lifter assembly, a seaming chuck, and a knockout pad. The lifter assembly may be configured to lift a can body, and may include a spring. The seaming chuck may include a surface that is configured to contact a portion of the can end during seaming. The knockout pad may be movable relative to the seaming chuck, and may be configured to locate the can end prior to seaming. The spring may be preloaded to provide a force between 30 lbf and 90 lbf to the can body when the lifter assembly has lifted the can body and the can end has contacted the seaming chuck. The force provided to the can body may increase to between 90 lbf and 150 lbf after the spring has been compressed.

  • Publication number: 20140042132
Abstract: A system for creating marked can tabs may include an isolation mechanism located in the path of the tab material strip between a tab material dereeler and a tab forming press and a system suitable for marking the tab material strip. The isolation mechanism may be configured to convert discontinuous motion of the tab material strip proximate the tab forming press into continuous motion of the tab material strip at the dereeler. The system may be suitable for marking the tab material strip. The marking system may be located between the dereeler and the isolation mechanism such that the laser system acts on the tab material strip while it is moving at a relatively constant speed.

  • Publication number: 20090022160
Abstract: Embodiments of a scheduler for a switch, where the switch is configured to couple input ports to output ports are described. During operation, the scheduler may determine a schedule based on a group of requests, associated with multiple data streams, that are received for the output ports of the switch, where the schedule matches input ports to output ports of the switch for a given data cell time. Note that the schedule may be determined using an arbitration technique during a time interval. Moreover, the scheduler may assign an additional request, which was received at a time that precedes a current time by less than the time interval, to a portion of the switch which is available in the schedule, thereby reducing a latency of the scheduler.

  • Patent number: 5069045
Abstract: The piece of jewelry, in the form of a ring, comprises a body of annular shape on the external surface of which there is provided a decoration which is attached to an arm. The arm and the decoration are situated in respective recesses in the external surface of the body. A displaceable member overlaps the body with some clearance, and it is locked into a predetermined position thereon by means of a screwed stud. In the locked position, the displaceable member completely covers the decoration. By unscrewing the stud, the displaceable member is released, and it can slide freely over the body so as to reveal the decoration. The arm, together with the attached decoration, can then pivot about a spindle mounted on the body in order to uncover personalized inscriptions situated on the external surface of the body, beneath the arm and on the two surfaces of this arm.
