    Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a wearable device for measuring physiological parameters of a subject while being worn. The device includes one or more sensors that perform the measurement of the physiological parameters. The sensors can be selected from either a light-based sensor or displacement sensor. The device includes a skin contact member that has a skin contact surface facing an external side of the device that faces the skin of the subject. During measurements of one of the sensors, the contact surface engages the skin of the subject to allow performing measurements by at least one sensor. The light-based sensor is configured to perform the measurement via the skin contact surface, and the displacement sensor is configured to sense the displacement of the skin contact surface. For allowing accurate performance of the measurements, the skin contact surface is required to displace smoothly in response to contact or pressure by the skin of the subject thereon.

    Abstract: A breast milk pump includes a breast interface member which has an inner cavity through which milk can flow, and a negative pressure assembly in fluid communication with one side of a diaphragm. An opposite side of the diaphragm is in fluid communication with the inner cavity. The diaphragm separates the inner cavity from the negative pressure assembly. A suckling assembly includes a tongue member and an actuator coupled to the tongue member for causing movement of the tongue member. A tongue position adjustment assembly is coupled to the suckling assembly and operative to cause displacement of the suckling assembly with respect to an inner surface of the inner cavity.

    Abstract: Cassette electrophoresis systems that allow viewing of molecules during the electrophoresis run are disclosed. Cassette electrophoresis bases that reversibly engage light sources, such as light source bases are disclosed. Also disclosed are visible light transillumination systems for viewing a pattern of fluorescence emitted by fluorophores comprising a cassette housing fluorophore-containing material and a base unit to support the cassette. In some aspects the base unit that includes a power supply also houses a light source having output in the visible wavelength region and a filter placed between the light source and the fluorophores. The system is constructed and arranged such that patterns of fluorescence emitted by the fluorophores are viewable. Also described are charging devices for providing charge to gel electrophoresis systems, portable gel electrophoresis systems and methods of use thereof.
