    Abstract: A flexible conduit used for transportation of hydrocarbon fluids for off-shore and on-shore oil and gas applications includes an inner pressure sheath, at least one reinforcing layer at least partially disposed around the pressure sheath, an outer protective sheath at least partially disposed around the at least one reinforcing layer, and optionally a thermally insulating layer disposed between the at least one reinforcing layer and the outer protective sheath. At least one of the inner pressure sheath, outer protective sheath, and the thermally insulating layer is manufactured using a thermoplastic blend (TPB) composition. The TPB compositions disclosed herein are useful for the formation of at least one polymer layer of the thermoplastic umbilical hoses used for transportation of hydrocarbon fluids.

    Abstract: A flexible pipe for transporting fluids in hydrocarbon production. The flexible pipe includes at least one layer comprised of a thermoplastic vulcanizate (TPV) composition. In one embodiment, the TPV composition further includes a cyclic olefin copolymer present in a range from 0.1 wt % to 30 wt % based upon a total weight of the TPV composition. In another embodiment, the TPV composition further includes a hydrocarbon resin present in a range from 0.1 wt % to 30 wt % based upon a total weight of the TPV composition. In another embodiment, the TPV composition further includes a slip agent present in a range from 0.1 wt % to 30 wt % based upon a total weight of the TPV composition. In another embodiment, the TPV composition further includes a silicon hydride reducing agent compound with at least two Si—H groups. In another embodiment, the TPV composition further includes a polyolefin based compatibilizer. In another embodiment, the TPV composition has an abrasion resistance of 75 mg/1000 cycle or less.

    Abstract: In an embodiment, a flexible pipe is provided. The flexible pipe includes a polymeric inner sheath that includes a thermoplastic vulcanizate (TPV) composition, the TPV composition comprising: a rubber and a thermoplastic olefin, wherein a concentration of the rubber is from 20 wt % to 90 wt % based on a combined weight of the rubber and the thermoplastic olefin, and a concentration of the thermoplastic olefin is from 10 wt % to 80 wt % based on the combined weight of the rubber and the thermoplastic olefin; and wherein the TPV composition has at least one of an air permeability of less than 30 barrers at 23° C. and a CO2 permeability of less than 40 barrers at 23° C. In another embodiment, a thermoplastic umbilical hose is provided. In another embodiment, a pipe structure is provided.
