  • Patent number: 11635637
Abstract: Examples include a device including a fluid lens having a membrane (that may be in elastic tension), a substrate, a fluid at least partially enclosed between the membrane and the substrate, and a support structure configured to provide a guide path for an edge portion of the membrane, such as a membrane attachment at a periphery of the membrane. The guide path may be configured to greatly reduce (or substantially eliminate) changes in the elastic energy of the membrane as the membrane profile is adjusted. The guide path may be configured so that the elastic force exerted by the membrane is generally normal to the guide path for each location on the guide path. Adjustment of the membrane profile may include applying an actuation force that is normal to the elastic force exerted by the membrane. Various other methods and apparatus are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20230083581
Abstract: One example method for controlling presentations in video conferences includes displaying, by a video conference application executing on a first client device, a first slide of a plurality of slides in a slide presentation as part of a visual display of a video conference on the first client device, receiving, by the video conference application executing on the first client device from the video conference application executing on a second client device, a command to display a second slide, wherein the command is issued by a first user of a plurality of users of the video conferencing application authorized to control the slide presentation; and displaying, by the video conference application executing on the first client, the second slide in response to receiving the command.

  • Publication number: 20230069499
Abstract: An embodiment may involve storing, by a computing device and in a database, a set of pangenetic attributes of a set of individuals, wherein the pangenetic attributes of the set are respectively and statistically associated with products; based on the statistical associations between the pangenetic attributes and the products, determining, by the computing device, product recommendations for a second set of individuals; receiving, by the computing device and from the second set of individuals, a plurality of measures of satisfaction with the product recommendations; based on the plurality of measures of satisfaction, learning, by the computing device, an association between a subset of the pangenetic attributes and a particular product; and storing, by the computing device and in the database, the learned association, wherein the learned association provides a basis for subsequent recommendations of the particular product when a subsequent individual exhibits the subset of the pangenetic attributes.

  • Patent number: 11580598
Abstract: A credit card recommendation system for recommending credit cards to a user can be based on the consumer's estimated monthly spend, estimated spend across a plurality of categories, and user credit data. The credit card recommendation system can filter credit cards based on a likelihood of approval for the user. The credit card recommendation can determine a reward valuation and an adjustment valuation by assessing user spend and the characteristics corresponding to the credit card. The credit card recommendation can train a model to score credit cards for users, and apply specific user data to the model to determine a credit card score particular to the user.

  • Patent number: 11581096
Abstract: A system and method are presented in which known genetic attributes associated with a condition are used to seed the determination of additional attributes which are associated with the condition. Based on the learning, the additional attributes (genetic, behavioral, or both) provide for an increased correlation between the combined attributes and the condition. For behavioral attributes, a measure of the impact of the behavioral attribute on the risk of the condition can be transmitted to another device or system.

  • Patent number: 11561415
Abstract: An example device may include a fluid lens having a membrane assembly including a membrane and one or more membrane attachments, a substrate, a fluid located within an enclosure formed at least in part by the membrane and the substrate, and a support structure, attached to the substrate, including an actuation guide. The device may include an actuator mechanically coupled to the actuation guide and configured to change an orientation of the actuation guide relative to another device component, such as a substrate or frame. An example actuation guide may engage with the membrane attachment, and the movement of the membrane attachment along the actuation guide in response to the change in the orientation of the actuation guide may adjust an optical property, such as a focal length, of the fluid lens.
