  • Publication number: 20220236089
Abstract: Flow sensors are provided that can monitor flow conditions. The flow sensor includes a gauge that provides a first level of information about flow through the sensor, and an indicator associated with the gauge that can provided a second level of information about flow through the sensor. The indicator might be in the form of a dial that can rotate about the gauge and might include a locked position for monitoring flow and an unlocked position to rotate the dial about the gauge to reposition the dial. Vanes in the flow sensor remove turbulence in the flow sensor to settle any noise that would otherwise register in the first level of information about flow through the sensor. The plunger with a rounded upstream face also helps to settle any such noise.

  • Patent number: 11399284
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods for providing and using a decentralized network using a blockchain. A provider (and/or miner) may provide network coverage to one or more devices in return for tokens on the blockchain. The blockchain may employ a proof-of-coverage scheme to verify (and even guarantee) that the miners are honestly representing the wireless network coverage they are providing. In some instances, the proof of coverage may require the providers to prove coverage periodically, upon demand, and/or at random intervals.

  • Patent number: 11200712
Abstract: A non-transitory processor-readable medium storing code representing instructions to be executed by a processor to receive a set of data elements associated with a user-defined content having a content type. The processor interpolates the set of data elements to produce a first set of content data based on a filter domain associated with the user-defined content. The processor further refines the first set of content data based, at least in part, on the content type to produce a second set of content data. The processor also sends a signal representing the second set of content data such that the user-defined content is displayed based on the second set of content data.

  • Publication number: 20210160643
Abstract: Techniques of rendering sound for a listener involve determining, at a first position, a set of directions from which some specified fraction of the sound field energy originates and reconstruct the sound field at a second position based on the set of directions. Along these lines, a sound rendering computer may receive sound data representing sound emanating from positions on a sphere centered on a microphone. Nevertheless, only a small fraction of these points on the sphere contribute much of the sound field energy directed at the listener. The sound rendering computer determines such directions using a directional decomposition in which those directions having the highest fraction of the sound energy are identified. When the listener moves away from the microphone's position, the sound rendering computer, after identifying such directions, applies an amplitude and phase factor to the sound fields corresponding to those directions.

  • Publication number: 20210101437
Abstract: An enclosure or housing for an air monitoring instrument package for mounting on the roof or other surface on the outside of vehicles such as cars, trucks, buses, trams, trains and ships. By measuring air pollutants from moving vehicles, it is possible to explore the distribution of air pollutants throughout a city or rural area for the identification of sources of different pollutants, estimating human exposures to air pollutants, and mapping air pollutants with high resolution. The disclosed device provides continuous sampling of outside air while simultaneously protecting the delicate instruments from weather elements such as high wind, rain, snow, sleet and hail. The design also allows a nearly constant flow rate of sampled air independent of vehicle velocity. An optional impaction region further reduces transmission of mist and large particles to the chamber containing the measurement package.
