Abstract: A power converter includes at least one leg having a first string operatively coupled to a second string via a first connecting node and a second connecting node. The first string includes a first branch and a second branch operatively coupled via a third connecting node. Each of the branches has a plurality of switching units, a controllable semiconductor switch and the first connecting node and the second connecting node. The first string is operatively coupled across a first bus and a second bus. Furthermore, the second string includes a plurality of controllable semiconductor switches.

Abstract: Herein is disclosed a propellant transfer system and method for refueling on-orbit spacecraft. The system and method are configured to allow for resupply of spacecraft configured to be fueled by either a bipropellant (oxidizer and fuel) or a monopropellant (typically hydrazine). The system and method are particularly suited for resupply of satellites not originally prepared for refueling as well but the system may also be used for as satellites specifically designed for refueling.

Abstract: An apparatus, and an associated method, for directing communications of a communication session to a selected communication device, or devices, of a group of commonly-registered devices. A device-direction policy is created and stored at a network entity. The policy identifies preferred devices to which communications of a communication session are to be provided. A SIP Invite, or other communication-session initiation message, is provided to the network entity. The network entity detects the message, accesses the policy, and forwards on the message in accordance with the policy.

Abstract: A power converter includes at least one leg including a first string that includes controllable semiconductor switches, a first connecting node, and a second connecting node and that is operatively coupled across a first bus and a second bus. A second string is operatively coupled to the first string via the first connecting node and the second connecting node. The second string includes a plurality of switching modules wherein each of the plurality of switching modules includes a plurality of fully controllable semiconductor switches and at least one energy storage device. The power converter includes a system controller to control activation of the controllable semiconductor switches and switching modules such that a controlled electrical variable is maintained at a first predetermined reference voltage value and the average internal stored energy of the energy storage devices is maintained at a second predetermined reference value.

Abstract: A power converter including one or more converter legs is provided. Each converter leg includes a first string including a plurality of switches coupled to each other in series. The one or more converter legs also include a second string operatively coupled to the first string at a first node and a second node in a parallel configuration, where the second string includes a plurality of switching units, and where a second string of one converter leg of the one or more converter legs is operatively coupled to second strings corresponding to other converter legs in the one or more converter legs.

Abstract: A user device may provide a graphical user interface which presents content navigation objects, where each content navigation object may be associated with a content item and is presented within a portion of the graphical user interface. The user device may detect an action that corresponds to a content navigation object, and determine whether the detected action is a command to display content options that may be contextually related to the content item associated with the content navigation object. The user device may display the content options by altering the appearance of the content navigation object, receive an action selecting the content option from the displayed content options, and conceal the content options after the action for selecting the content option has been received.

Abstract: In one illustrative example, a technique in a mobile communication device which is operative in a wireless communication network for Push-To-Talk (PTT) communications involves receiving, at the mobile communication device, presence information associated with at least one other mobile communication device, the presence information including at least one of a current availability indication or capability indication; and buffering a PTT communication prior to its transmission from the mobile communication device based on the presence information. The current availability or capability indication may be an automatic answering indication or a media capability indication, as examples.

Abstract: A method for a user agent to access a session policy in a network is provided. The method comprises the user agent sending a registration message to a first network node. The method further comprises the user agent receiving policy-related information from the first network node in a response to the registration message. The policy-related information is one of the session policy, a Uniform Resource Locator that points to the session policy, and a Policy-Contact header containing a policyContactURI for a policy document.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a wireless mobile User Equipment (UE) device comprises a message generator configured to send a SIP request message via a first IP network and a processor configured to process a SIP response message received from a network node via the first IP network, the processor further configured to process instructions to provide a treatment for at least one message body content of the SIP response message based on a value of a content type indicator independent of at least one of an absence of a content disposition indicator, a content disposition indicator without a value and a content disposition indicator having a value. The treatment, applied by the UE device, may comprise one of: (i) performing an Emergency Services (ES) call effectuated via a CS network and (ii) performing a registration and an ES call effectuated via an IP network.

Abstract: A method to transfer control is presented. The method includes receiving a request to transfer control of a collaborative session from a first user equipment (UE). The method includes sending a request for the transfer of control of the collaborative session in response to the received request to a second UE, and receiving, in response to the sent request to the second UE, an indication of acceptance of the transfer of control of the collaborative session. The method includes sending a notification of status to the first UE of the control of the collaborative session in response to receiving, from the second UE, the indication of acceptance.

Abstract: A user equipment device, removable storage module and method for accelerating network selection by a wireless user equipment (UE) device without having to perform a full band scan (FBS). In one exemplary embodiment, the UE device sends location information of the wireless user equipment device to a home network node. The UE device receives appropriate network list information and associated frequency data from the home network node, the network list information comprising network identities comprising a combination of a core network with at least one of an access network and a service network, and locates a network using at least one of the appropriate network list information and associated frequency data without having to do a full band scan.

Abstract: Apparatus, and an associated method, for communicating short message service content to a short message service center. The address of an IP-SM-GW (Internet Protocol-Short Message-Gateway) defined in the 3GPP TS 23.204 is provided to user equipment and used to address an SIP request that contains encapsulated SMS content. The address is stored at the mobile station at a storage element, such as at a SIM card, UICC, or management object. A SIP request generator accesses the storage element and uses the address as the address of the SIP request. The SIP request also includes SMS content, in encapsulation, therein.

Abstract: A visual clipboard system and method are provided, in which drag-and-release operations are employed to move copies of a displayed object onto and off of a predefined clipboard area. When a copy of a displayed object is placed on the predefined clipboard area, the displayed object is visually modified to indicate that the visually-modified copy is docked on the predefined clipboard area, and thus eligible for use in a copy operation. When a copy is removed from the predefined clipboard area and placed in a desired target location, the original appearance of the displayed object is restored.

Abstract: A system includes a generator unit coupleable to a hydro turbine. The generator unit includes a casing having a first stationary support coupleable to a base disposed within water and a superconducting generator disposed within the casing. The superconducting generator includes an annular armature and an annular field winding including a plurality of superconducting magnets disposed coaxial with the annular armature and separated by a gap. One of the annular armature and the annular field winding is rotatable by the hydro turbine and other of the annular armature and the annular field winding is stationary.

Abstract: According to one aspect, a system and method of exchanging GRUUs (Globally Routed User Agent URI (Uniform Resource Identifier)) between a first telephony-enabled device and a second telephony enabled device using a circuit-switched message is provided. Once exchanged, the telephony enabled devices can exchange SIP (session initiated protocol) communications routed by the GRUUs. Any one of the telephony-enabled devices can add a media component to the SIP communications. According to another aspect, a system and method of generating GRUUs is provided. According to another aspect, a system and method of handing off communications to a packet switched network from a circuit switched network is provided.
