  • Publication number: 20150266299
Abstract: An inkjet printing system includes: a plurality of print head cartridges; a print head chassis for supporting the plurality of print head cartridges; a lift mechanism for lifting and lowering the print head chassis between a printing position, a transition position, and a maintenance position; and a maintenance chassis supporting a chassis sub-frame having a corresponding plurality of maintenance cradles; and a sub-frame movement mechanism for slidably moving the chassis sub-frame with respect to the maintenance chassis. In the transition position, the print head chassis is held at a height, relative to a platen, that allows the maintenance chassis to be moved from a storage position to an operational positional under the print head chassis. Further, in the operational position, the sub-frame movement mechanism aligns a capper or a wiper with a respective printhead.

  • Publication number: 20150268152
Abstract: A corrosivity associated with each of multiple locations near, on, or within a structure exposed to an environment that can corrode the structure is determined. Each of multiple sensor nodes is mounted at a corresponding one of the locations and measures environmental sensor information using one or more environmental sensors and corrosion sensor information using one or more corrosion sensors. The environmental sensor information is processed to obtain for the sensing node a first atmospheric corrosivity category value in accordance with a corrosivity classification system, and the corrosion sensor information is processed to obtain a second atmospheric corrosivity category value for the sensing node in accordance with the corrosivity classification system. One or more of the first and second atmospheric corrosivity category values is provided for use in determining a corrosion classification value for each of the locations.

  • Publication number: 20150268819
Abstract: A user interface overlay is presented over a native graphical user interface (GUI) of a device. By way of example, the overlay can include a graphical presentation layer (GPL) that can selectively mask and/or expose functionality of the native GUI of the device. In addition, the GPL can bundle disparate portions of native functionality in accord with one or more logical associations between a title, tag, application, purpose, type, or like qualifier, associated with the disparate portions. In addition, user preferences and device/network intelligence components can dynamically customize portions of the GPL to match a location, locale, mood, or setting or like situational context of a device and/or user.

  • Publication number: 20150265994
Abstract: An array of membranes comprising amphipathic molecules is formed using an apparatus comprising a support defining an array of compartments. Volumes comprising polar medium are provided within respective compartments and a layer comprising apolar medium is provided extending across the openings with the volumes. Polar medium is flowed across the support to displace apolar medium and form a layer in contact with the volumes, forming membranes comprising amphipathic molecules at the interfaces. In one construction of the apparatus, the support that comprises partitions which comprise inner portions and outer portions. The inner portions define inner recesses without gaps therebetween that are capable of constraining the volumes comprising polar medium contained in neighbouring inner recesses from contacting each other. The outer portions extend outwardly from the inner portions and have gaps allowing the flow of an apolar medium across the substrate.
