Abstract: An inductor is integrated into a multilevel wiring network of a semiconductor integrated circuit. The inductor includes a planar magnetic core and a conductive winding. The conductive winding turns around in generally spiral manner on the outside of the planar magnetic core. The conductive winding is piecewise constructed of wire segments and of VIAs. The wire segments pertain to at least two wiring planes and the VIAs are interconnecting the at least two wiring planes. Methods for such integration, and for fabricating laminated planar magnetic cores are also presented.

Abstract: Methods and systems of summarizing media content may provide for receiving a request for a presentation of media content to a user, and determining a media consumption context associated with the user and the media content, wherein the media consumption context includes an amount of time between media consumption sessions. Additionally, a level of detail for a summary of the media content may be determined based on the media consumption context. In one example, the media consumption context further includes one or more of an amount of media consumed in a most recent media consumption session, an information retention capacity of the user, a complexity of the media content, a granularity input from the user, and a user preference setting.

Abstract: Techniques are described herein that are capable of constructing an inter-process communication channel, for example, between a requesting component and a targeted process. The communication channel may have one or more links, such that each link is defined by a respective node pair in a plurality of nodes. The plurality of nodes includes the requesting component, the targeted process, and optionally one or more intermediate nodes. An attachment request is received via a user interface. The requesting component is attached to the targeted process. For instance, the links may be traversed to discover the targeted process. The communication channel is established. For instance, in each node of a subset of the plurality of nodes, node information may be retained to indicate a next consecutive node of the plurality of nodes to which messages from the requesting component to the targeted process are to be delivered.

Abstract: To generate a media station, a client device can receive a candidate media item playlist and media playback rules corresponding to the media station. When a new media item is needed for the media station, the client device can apply the media playback rules to a next media item in the list of candidate media items. The playback rules can be used to determine whether the next media item is currently eligible for playback. Additionally, the client device can receive a candidate invitational content item playlist and invitational content playback rules corresponding to the media station. In response to detecting an invitational content triggering action, the client device can apply the invitational content item rules to the candidate invitational content item playlist to select at least one invitational content item to present in the media stream.

Abstract: Methods and systems for acquiring a pre-approval from a responsible party and receiving funds from a financial account related to the pre-approval in the healthcare field are described herein. A method for collecting payment from an individual for services rendered by a provider is disclosed. The method includes verifying an individual's eligibility for benefits, estimating an individual responsibility amount, acquiring authority from the individual for up to the individual responsibility amount on at least one financial account held by the individual, submitting one or more claims to one or more payer entities requesting compensation for the services rendered by the provider, deducting an amount from the at least one financial account held by the individual, and transferring the deducted amount to the provider.

Abstract: The rate of leaching of a polycrystalline diamond (PCD) cutting layer for cutting elements or other wear parts is varied by introduction into the PCD of an additive prior to leaching. Selective introduction of the additive into one or more regions of a PCD cutting structure allows controlling leaching rates of selective leaching of parts of the PCD structure, which allows for creating of a boundary between the leached and non-leached regions of a PCD structure to be made so that is not parallel to the surface or surfaces exposed to the leaching solution. The additive is comprised of a material that increases the permeability of the PCD or acceptance of the PCD to the leaching solution, such as a hydrophile.

Abstract: A method for the identification and implementation of a logic function includes determining logic gates connected to a control signal that is common among the logic gates of the identified logic function. Standard cells may be created and characterized in order to implement the identified logic function. Creating the standard cell includes aligning respective portions of the logic devices included in the logic gates that are coupled to the control signal. In addition, creating the standard cell may also include routing the control signal using a single layer conductive material uni-directionally to interconnect the logic devices.

Abstract: Systems and methods for selective authorization of dependent code modules are provided. According to one embodiment, responsive to a monitored file system or operating system event initiated by an active process, a real-time authentication process is performed or bypassed on a code module to which the monitored event relates with reference to a whitelist that includes cryptographic hash values of approved code modules, which are known not to contain viruses or malicious code. The active process is allowed to load the code module when the authentication process is bypassed or when the cryptographic hash value of the code module matches one of the cryptographic hash values of approved code modules within the whitelist.

Abstract: Disclosed systems and methods enable a user to train an extraction model by receiving a starting document and input from the user indicating tagged data from the starting document and creating an extraction model from the tagged data. Disclosed systems and methods also include identifying groups of additional documents based on a location of the starting document and displaying each of the groups to the user in order to receive a selection of at least one group from the user. Disclosed systems and methods also include applying the extraction model to the at least one group by evaluating the additional documents associated with the at least one group based on the extraction model to determine a confidence score for each of the additional documents, determining a document with a low confidence score, and displaying the particular document to the user to receive additional tagged data.

Abstract: A social networking system allows users that are people to partner with users that are non-person entities. A partnership allows the entity participating in the partnership to personalize an associated page with content from the person participating in the partnership and similarly allows the person to include certain content from the entity, made available because of the partnership, in the person's user profile. The entity may provide additional benefits, such as enrollment in a rewards program or access to new products, to a user participating in a partnership. The partnership is bidirectional, and is separate from other unidirectional connection mechanisms provided by the social networking system such as indications of affinity (e.g., “likes”), friendships, and subscriptions.

Abstract: A branch history table cache is a write cache that stores values of branch history counters written to a branch history table. An update to a branch history table counter is reflected in both the branch history table cache and the branch history table. Before a branch history table counter is updated, a check is made to see if the branch history table counter is in the cache. If not, the branch history table counter is updated based on a value of the branch history table counter that was saved during fetch of the branch history table counter. If, however, the branch history table counter value is in the cache, the value in the cache is used to update the branch history table counter. All branches that use the branch history table counter update the correct counter value, improving processor performance by providing more accurate predictions of branches taken.

In one embodiment, the interactive audio system comprises a processor and a receiving module for receiving a radio frequency (RF) carrier signal associated with a broadcast station. The audio system further comprises a memory storing computer-executable instructions, where the processing module is configured to access and execute the computer-executable instructions to perform a set of acts. The acts include shifting a frequency associated with the received RF carrier signal to an intermediate frequency (IF). The acts include demodulating the frequency shifted portion of the RF carrier signal associated with the broadcast station, the demodulation resulting in an output signal. The acts further include extracting an embedded data from the demodulated output signal, where the embedded data can be utilized to interact with a party associated the embedded data.

Abstract: An alert device for a vehicle including a communications receiver for receiving file fragments for the device, a positioning data receiver for providing vehicle location data, a microcontroller system including a microcontroller and a programmable non-volatile memory system, for building and storing application and data files from the fragments, and executing an alert application of the device by processing at least one application file and associated data identified by configuration instructions included in at least one of the fragments to provide alert data for the vehicle corresponding to the location of the vehicle determined by the application on the basis of the vehicle location data.

Abstract: A vehicle drive arrangement for a vehicle of the type having differential power transmission arrangement that converts the rotatory motion of the rotatory power shaft to rotatory motion of first and second drive shafts disposed substantially orthogonal the rotatory power shaft. Primary leaf springs are each coupled at their respective centers to respective drive shafts by pivotal arrangements. The first and second primary springs may include helical springs that are used in place of, or in combination with, the primary leaf springs. Secondary leaf springs may be splayed and therefore need not be arranged parallel to the primary leaf springs. Control over vehicle kinematics is enhanced by configuring the resilience of a fulcrum bumper using resilient, rheological, or active systems. An active system will control vehicle height while stationary to facilitate loading and unloading of the vehicle.

In some embodiments, the operations can also include providing social network rewards and wagering game awards for the event to the player-owned social network account, or to other social network accounts associated with the player-owned social network account. In some embodiments, the operations can also include determining social activity performed by the other social network accounts and presenting notifications of the social activity by the other social network accounts to the wagering game player account during the wagering game session.
