Abstract: A customized recommendation agent for the user is built using a behavioral model. The customized recommendation agent selects recommendations from a corpus to present to the user, based on the behavioral model and the user's current or predicted future context. The customized recommendation agent can be shared by the user with others, thus allowing others to access recommendations that may appeal to the user, for example, for use in planning joint activities. Because the user's recommendation agent is independent from the user's actual history, preferences can be shared without revealing a user's specific behavior.

Abstract: One or more events occurring within a client-side web application are logged at a remote server using a script-based invocation mechanism. The mechanism comprises a client-side script, and associated server-side code. Upon occurrence of an event to be logged, a script object is created on the client and used to pass logged data to the server, which then issues a response to destroy the script object. In this manner, the script object is created and persists in the client only as long as it is needed to log the event.

The method comprises receiving, by a receiving module, one or more indications, each indication being an indication that a consumer intends to consume, at some time in the future, the multimedia content. Using the indications, a value of a metric is then determined. The metric is dependent upon the number of received indications or one or more attributes of consumers whom the indications indicate intend to consume the multimedia content. An insert is then selected depending on the determined value for the metric. The selected insert is then included in the multimedia content.

Abstract: A method of forming a template on a silicon substrate includes epitaxially growing a template of single crystal ternary rare earth oxide on a silicon substrate and epitaxially growing a single crystal semiconductor active layer on the template. The active layer has either a cubic or a hexagonal crystal structure. During the epitaxial growth of the template, a partial pressure of oxygen is selected and a ratio of metals included in the ternary rare earth oxide is selected to match crystal spacing and structure of the template at a lower interface to the substrate and to match crystal spacing and structure of the template at an upper interface to crystal spacing and structure of the semiconductor active layer. A high oxygen partial pressure during growth of the template produces a stabilized cubic crystal structure and a low oxygen partial pressure produces a predominant peak with a hexagonal crystal structure.
