  • Publication number: 20130112514
Abstract: A light-weight and sound-damped brake rotor for a vehicle braking system includes a rotor hat and a rotor cheek supported by the rotor hat. The rotor hat includes an axially-protruding central hub and a flange that extends radially from and circumferentially around the central hub. The rotor cheek, which provides at least one braking surface, is formed from two or more separate and distinct pieces which are fixedly secured to the flange of the rotor hat. Located within the rotor cheek underneath the at least one braking surface is a vibration damping element. The brake rotor derives its vibration-deadening and sound-damping effects from the vibration damping element through the occurrence of relative frictional contacting movement.

  • Publication number: 20130113936
Abstract: To manage a plurality of parking spaces, one or more images are acquired, with each parking space appearing in at least one image. Periodically acquired images of occupancy and identity are used in directing a customer to a parked vehicle. Periodically acquired images of just occupancy are used in controlling respective environment aspects, such as illumination and ventilation, of the parking spaces. For these purposed, the images are classified automatically as “vacant” or “occupied”, and are displayed along with their classifications so that the classifications can be corrected manually.

  • Publication number: 20130117182
Abstract: A server receives a sound file corresponding to a sound corresponding to a media file. The server compares the sound file to a library of media file sound recordings to identify a media file and a matching position in the media file of a final sound in the sound file. The server determines, from a data structure of media abbreviations, a media abbreviation that corresponds to a final sound data present in the sound file. The server transmits the media abbreviation to the addressable device.

  • Publication number: 20130117453
Abstract: A tenant comprising one or more users receives services from a cloud computing system (“CCS”). The CCS determines when a tenant is not using any services, and if so, the CCS initiates a tenant suspension process. The tenant suspension process involves suspending various asynchronous computing processes for the tenant, which execute otherwise execute even if no users of the tenant are currently accessing the CCS. After a period of non-use of the CCS, the tenant is suspended. The tenant is returned to an active state automatically when a user of the tenant logs-on to receive services.

  • Publication number: 20130117511
Abstract: A data processing apparatus has a cache having a normal mode and a retention mode in which the cache consumes less power than in the normal mode. An interconnect receives, from at least one other device, coherency access requests for data stored in the cache. In the normal mode, the data in the cache is accessible and the cache generates coherency responses in response to the coherency access requests, while in the retention mode the data is retained in the cache but inaccessible in response to the coherency access requests. A coherency controller is provided to monitor the coherency access requests and coherency responses. Switching of the cache from the normal mode to the retention mode is deferred until the coherency controller has detected coherency responses for all coherency access requests passed to said cache.

  • Publication number: 20130117786
Abstract: The present disclosure introduces a Social Network Content Driven Electronic Program Guide (EPG). In one embodiment, the computer program language when executed by a processor performs operations that allow a user to specify whether media content information presented by an EPG is presented within a context of multiple contexts of one or more social network(s) and corresponding social circle(s) associated with the user. Responsive to the user indicating that the EPG present media content within a particular one context of the multiple contexts, the EPG edits any context intersecting media content information with associated information from the social network to personalize the media content information. The edited content is then highlighted and presented by the EPG. All other media content information is presented without highlights. Other embodiments are also described.
