  • Publication number: 20080101391
Abstract: A method for detecting and directing traffic in a network environment is provided that includes receiving a packet included within a communication flow that is initiated by a mobile terminal and setting a flag within the packet. The method further includes directing the packet to a next destination by recognizing that the flag included within the packet was set and therefore is associated with a mobile-to-mobile communication session.

  • Patent number: 7304974
Abstract: An apparatus for supporting a network behind a wireless station includes a gateway that can receive from a wireless station a request for a communications session. The gateway can determine whether to authenticate the communications session, and, in response to determining to authenticate the communications session, request from a server network addresses for network devices behind the wireless station. The gateway can receive the requested network addresses from the server, associate the received network addresses with the wireless station, and establish the communications session.

  • Publication number: 20070168731
Abstract: The same microcontroller chip is configured to be either a Target version or a Link version of a microcontroller. The Target version runs an application program. To debug the Target microcontroller, the Link version of the microcontroller functions as a master debug microcontroller to the slave Target microcontroller running the application program. The Link microcontroller runs an interface translator program between a Host computer that runs a debug program, and the Target microcontroller. The Link microcontroller communicates with the Target microcontroller using a fast, 2-wire interface. The Link microcontroller communicates with the Host computer through a general purpose interface.

  • Patent number: 6519108
Abstract: A method and apparatus for detecting disk drive head instability. Normal head fluctuation is removed from the criterion used to detect whether a head is unstable. The present invention accumulates error signals in an accumulator and calculates a criterion having an average fluctuation removed using the accumulated error signals. The criterion is calculated according to (max+min)−(2×average), wherein max is the maximum error signal, min is the minimum error signal and average is the average error signal. The criterion is then compared to a predetermine threshold to determine whether the head is unstable. A head is determined to be unstable when (max+min)−(2×average) is greater than the predetermined threshold.

  • Patent number: 6249394
Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing amplitude instability data recovery for AMR/GMR heads during amplitude loss using MSE and/or amplitude envelope detection procedures. The method includes (a) initiating a data recovery procedure by selecting a detection mode for detecting when an error condition occurs, (b) performing the selected detection mode, (c) determining a reset action for resetting the magnetic head, (d) performing the reset action to reset the magnetic head and (f) re-reading data in the track after performing the reset action. An embodiment of the invention further includes (g) determining whether the resetting of the magnetic head allowed recovery of the data in the track and (h) terminating the data recovery procedure when the data is recovered.

  • Patent number: 5093898
Abstract: Conductive polymer compositions based on polyvinylidene fluoride have improved properties when the polyvinylidene fluoride has a very regular structure which can be characterized by a low head-to-head content in the repeating units. The improved properties include electrical stability when contacted by organic fluids and/or when maintained at elevated temperatures in air. Such compositions which exhibit PTC behavior are particularly useful in the form of self-limiting heaters which are immersed in organic fluds, especially flexible strip heaters for heating diesel fuel before it passes through a fuel filter.

  • Patent number: 4859836
Abstract: Melt-shapeable polymeric compositions comprising a first fluoropolymer of relatively low crystallinity, e.g. a copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene and a perfluorinated comonomer, and a second fluoropolymer of relatively high crystallinity, especially a fluoropolymer obtained by irradiating PTFE or another fluoropolymer which cannot be melt-shaped in the absence of other polymers. The weight ratio of the first to the second polymer is preferably 0.3:1 to 2.5:1. The compositions have a wide variety of uses, for example as insulating materials or, if they contain carbon black or another conductive filler, as PTC conductive polymers.

  • Patent number: 4237441
Abstract: Compositions which exhibit PTC behavior with a switching temperature (T.sub.s) above 0.degree. C., which have a resistivity at a temperature below T.sub.s of less than 7 ohm. cm, and which comprise a crystalline polymer and a particulate filler component which comprises carbon black having a particle size, D, which is from 20 to 150 millimicrons and a surface area S in m.sup.2 /gram such that S/D is not more than 10. The composition preferably has a peak resistivity of at least 1000 ohm. cm and is electrically stable when aged at elevated temperature. The quantity ##EQU1## is preferably less than 1, especially less than 0.5. Shaped articles of such compositions are prepared by a process in which the carbon black is dispersed in the molten polymer and the dispersion is then melt-shaped, the total energy used in preparing and melt-shaping the dispersion being 1 to 300 hp. hr. ft.sup.-3, preferably 1 to 100 hp. hr. ft.sup.-3, especially 1 to 50 hp. hr. ft.sup.-3.
