  • Patent number: 10641747
Abstract: The subject technology is directed to a CO2-based chromatography system and method for rapid determination of the levels and/or the presence or absence of polymer additives (PAs) leachable or extractable from packing materials or implantable medical devices.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 10, 2017
Date of Patent: May 5, 2020
    Assignee: Waters Technologies Corporation
Inventors: Stephane Dubant, Baiba Cabovska, Andrew Aubin, Michael Jones, Peter Hancock
  • Patent number: 10501432
Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to methods for separating ?8-THC, ?9-THC, and related enantiomers using CO2-based chromatography.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 30, 2017
Date of Patent: December 10, 2019
    Assignee: WATERS TECHNOLOGIES CORPORATION
Inventors: Jacquelyn Runco, Andrew Aubin, John A. Mackay
  • Publication number: 20190282928
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methodologies, systems, and devices for collecting extract in a CO2-based extraction system. A diffuser can be used, attached to one end of an extraction tube, in order to depressurize the CO2 and extract mixture as it exits the diffuser and enters the extraction collection container. A splash guard can also be attached to the extraction tube in order to block any splashing of extract while CO2 is allowed to vent from the extraction collection container.
    Type: Application
    Filed: March 13, 2019
    Publication date: September 19, 2019
    Applicant: Waters Technologies Corporation
Inventors: Edward J. Ognibene, Michael Webster, Pratik Gandhi, Steven Stricko, Darcy Shave, Andrew Aubin, Joseph D. Antocci, Richard Skinner, Bryan Cumming, Ziqiang Wang
  • Publication number: 20190282923
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methodologies, systems, and devices for discretely collecting extracts from an extract collection container of a CO2-based extraction system. A removable liner can be placed within the extract collection container such that the extract is collected within the removable liner, which can be removed or collected at discrete times. The removable liner can be hung from an extract fluid inlet tube or attached to an internal sidewall of the extract collection container.

  • Patent number: 6355249
Abstract: A process for commercial extraction of saponins from quinoa, and optionally for the formation of corresponding sapogenins. The saponin extraction process comprises contacting a saponin-containing part of a quinoa plant with an aqueous alcohol solution containing an alcohol selected from the group consisting of methanol and ethanol to form a saponin-containing solution and an extracted solid residue, removing the alcohol from the saponin-containing solution to leave a saponin-containing aqueous solution, and evaporating water from the saponin-containing aqueous solution to produce a saponin-containing product.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 16, 1999
Date of Patent: March 12, 2002
Assignee: Her Majesty the Queen in right of Canada, as represented by the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada
Inventors: Alister D. Muir, David Paton, Krista Ballantyne, Andrew A. Aubin
