Abstract: The present invention is a system and a method for managing health records of a patient on a secure healthcare information network. It includes registering the patient with the healthcare information network; establishing a healthcare account for the patient; gathering personal and medical information about the patient; wherein the gathering step further comprises: requesting at least one healthcare provider of the patient to register with the healthcare information network and receiving information about the health of the patient from at least one healthcare provider of the patient, the patient, at least one custodian of the patient, or any authorized entity associated with the patient; compiling a health record summary of the healthcare account of the patient based on the received information; requesting additional healthcare providers for the patient to register with the healthcare information network and supply information about the health of the patient; and updating the health record summary.
