  • Publication number: 20240021332
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a fuel pellet includes obtaining a first material containing a nuclear fuel in a first region with a longitudinal axis and overmolding a second material in a second region around at least a radially outermost surface of the first material relative to the longitudinal axis.

  • Patent number: 6246675
Abstract: In a code division multiple access (CDMA) cordless telephone system, CDMA telephone signals are exchanged between a basestation and an operating mobile cordless telephone handset. An upstream signal transmitted by the operating handset is detected at a detection location remote from the basestation by a signal recognition unit, which processes the detected upstream signal to recognize whether the handset is authorized, in which case an identification signal identifying the operating handset as being at the location and as being authorized is transmitted through a signal conduit to the basestation.

  • Patent number: 6023628
Abstract: A base station for a time division duplex (TDD) cordless telephone system has a frequency division duplex (FDD) transmit signal path for outputting FDD transmit signals, the transmit signal path including a transmit signal timing generator for controlling the timing of the transmit signals, and an FDD receive signal path for processing FDD receive signals input into the base station. The receive signal path includes a demodulator for demodulating the receive signals, a bit timer responsive to bit clock timing in the receive signals for controlling the timing of the receive signals in dependance on the receive signal bit clock timing and a data processor responsive to the demodulator and the bit timer for correspondingly varying the timing of the receive signals.

  • Patent number: 5924022
Abstract: An RF repeater for exchanging time division multiple access (TDMA) transmit and receive signals between a mobile handset and a CATV plant or other signal conduit has a signal timing detector responsive to the timing of transmit signals being broadcast to the handset to provide timing information indicative of the timing of receive signals being received from the handset. A signal level detector responsive to the signal level of the receive signals provides signal level information. A signal control device responsive to the timing information and the signal level information provides a signal level control output for time slotted control of the receive signals. The timing and signal level information may be used to effect diversity selection between receive signals from two spaced antennas at the repeater and/or diversity selection may be effected between two versions of the receive signal at a base station after passing through the signal conduit.

  • Patent number: 5781859
Abstract: An RF repeater arrangement for use in a wireless telephone system has a number of handset interface parts, each provided with a transmit section for transmitting a signal to a wireless telephone handset, a receive section for receiving an off-air signal from the wireless handset and an energy detector for detecting the energy level of the received off-air signal and providing a control signal corresponding to such energy level. The control signal is employed for inhibiting the transmit section when the energy level of the received off-air signal is below a predetermined value. Thus, each handset interface part can determine when a channel is occupied and avoid transmission on that channel, so that only the geographic area around the occupied handset is subject to interference from the occupied channel.

  • Patent number: 5678177
Abstract: The object of the invention is to employ a single amplifier for both the transmit and the receive signals in an RF repeater for interfacing with a base station for exchanging transmit and receive signals in a time division duplex cordless telephone system. A multicarrier amplifier having an input and an output and a transfer switch connected to the amplifier output and the amplifier input and having first and second switch states. The operation of the switch is controlled so that the transmit and receive signals are amplified by the amplifier. The other object is to chain RF repeaters so that the handset can roam over a roamer corridor covered by the RF repeaters. The RF repeaters are provided with a dedicated signal link.

  • Patent number: 5634191
Abstract: An RF repeater arrangement for exchanging transmit and receive signals between a handset and a base station in a wireless telephone system automatically compensates for attenuation losses. The RF repeater arrangement includes first and second RF repeater parts connected by a signal conduit, the first part interfacing with the base station and having a signal level detector for detecting the level of the transmit signal, a microprocessor controller for quantizing and encoding the signal level detected by the level detector and a modulator for modulating the signal level data and outputting the modulated signal level data to the signal conduit.

  • Patent number: 5377255
Abstract: An RF repeater for interfacing with a base station for exchanging transmit and receive signals in a time division duplex cordless telephone system comprises a multicarrier amplifier having an input and an output and a transfer switch connected to the amplifier output and the amplifier input and having first and second switch states. The switch means connects receive signals from the handset to the amplifier input and the amplifier output to the base station in the first switch state, and connects the base station to the amplifier input and transmit signals from the amplifier output to be broadcast to the handset in the second switch state. The operation of the switch is controlled so that the transmit and receive signals are alternately amplified by the amplifier. Thus, only a single amplifier is required.
