  • Publication number: 20130298434
Abstract: The field of the present invention relates to an identification assembly, and in particular, to a clasp device for securing to an identification wristband, and to a wristband and clasp assembly. In one embodiment, an identification assembly for a patient includes a band with first and second opposite ends and first and second opposite edges and a width measured between the first and second edges. The identification assembly also includes a clasp secured to the band. The clasp has a first section having an inside surface and an outside surface; a second section having an inside surface and an outside surface, the inside surface of the second section facing the inside surface of the first section; and a protrusion extending from one of the first or the second section to engage the other of the first or the second section to secure the first and second sections together in a closed position.

  • Patent number: 8576901
Abstract: A modem is provided for a wireless device that is capable of providing service for at least two SIMs. The modem has at least a first set of modem components and a second set of modem components. The modem selectively reconfigures the arrangement of the plural sets of modem components. In a first configuration, the first set of modem components provides wireless connection service for a first SIM of the wireless device and the second set of modem components provides wireless connection service for a second SIM of the wireless device. This allows active wireless connections to be made on behalf of both SIMs simultaneously by the sets of modem components. In a second configuration, the first set of modem components and the second set of modem components provide wireless connection service for the first SIM.

  • Patent number: 8554167
Abstract: A wireless device has two or more radio systems and SIM channels. At least a part of the first radio system can be shut down to reduce the power consumed by the device. This occurs if the first radio system is unable to obtain suitable service for the first SIM channel and the second radio system is at least one of (i) providing at least some service on the second SIM channel for the device, and (ii) capable of searching for service for the first radio system.

  • Patent number: 8527006
Abstract: A wireless device has at least a first modem and a second modem and at least a first SIM and a second SIM. The first modem supports a different level of service than the second modem. A processing system of the wireless device selectively reconfigures the connection of the first modem and the second modem to the SIMs. In a first mapping configuration, the first SIM is connected to the first modem and the second SIM is connected to the second modem. In a second mapping configuration, the second SIM is disconnected from the second modem, and the first SIM is disconnected from the first modem and is connected to the second modem thereby to obtain a different level of service for the first SIM than in the first mapping configuration.

  • Publication number: 20130065644
Abstract: A wireless device has a first SIM and a second SIM. The first SIM and the second SIM share a common radio system. A processing system determines whether to allocate use of the radio system to the second SIM for a time period that occurs when the first SIM is in an active connected mode using the common radio system in order to be able to at least one of transmit data and receive data. The processing system allocates or denies use of the radio system to the second SIM accordingly.

  • Publication number: 20130005394
Abstract: A wireless device has at least a first radio system for a first SIM channel and a second radio system for a second SIM channel. A processing system is arranged to determine whether a first of the first and second radio systems is capable of providing service for both of the first and second SIM channels currently being serviced by the first and second radio systems respectively. Servicing of the second SIM channel is transferred from the second radio system to the first radio system if it is determined that the first radio system is capable of providing service for both of first and second SIM channels. At least a part of the second radio system is shut down to reduce the power consumed by the second radio system after servicing of the second SIM channel has been transferred.

  • Patent number: 7782017
Abstract: Apparatus is configured for producing an output signal indicating an operating status of a monitored circuit. An input signal relating to the monitored circuit is received at an input node. A pulse train generator, coupled to the input node, is configured for generating a pulse train of a prescribed repetition rate at a duty cycle alternated between first and second duty cycle values at a prescribed frequency. The duty cycle and frequency are indicative of operating status of the monitored circuit.

  • Patent number: 7770180
Abstract: A mechanism is provided for embedding an object in a receiving or client document such that a client application may operate on the embedded object to include interrogation and modification of data contained in the embedded object. When a given document object is embedded into a receiving document, data representing the embedded object is saved to a data stream storage for the receiving document. When the embedded object in the receiving document is subsequently requested in response to an operation executed on the embedded object, the receiving application obtains the data representation of the embedded object from the data stream storage. Once the receiving application obtains the data representation of the embedded object, the receiving application may perform operations on the embedded object by accessing the embedded object via its data representation.
