Abstract: Systems and methods to provide asynchronous challenge gaming are described. In some embodiments, a method presents multiple of character actions to a first user of a game, where each of the character actions defines a game action to be performed by characters in the game. The method receives a selection from the first user that identifies multiple character actions to be performed by a game character associated with the first user. Additionally, the method receives a sequence assignment from the first user that defines a sequential order for performing the selected character actions. The game play between the first user and a second user is displayed to the first user based on the selected character actions and the sequence assignment, and without further interaction by the first user.

Abstract: A personal alert system for sending alerts or notifications in certain conditions. An alert is created by a user, primary contact, first responder or other third party, and an alert message is sent to designated contacts. An alert message can provide an update on a pending alert. Alerts can be configured to be triggered by preselected trigger conditions or can be sent in real time. Triggered alert can include a specific date and time or specific rules or alert conditions. Additional criteria can be applied, such as the constraint to check-in periodically during an alert period. If the user fails to meet an alert condition (e.g., check-in by a certain time), then the alert is triggered and an alert message is sent primary and secondary designated contacts. In another implementation, an emergency first responder can trigger the alert based on information on an emergency card stored in the user's wallet.

Abstract: Challenge gaming includes selection of individual gaming characters or teams of characters to be pitted against opposing characters in asynchronous individual competitions or sequential tournament competitions. Each of the characters has a predetermined set of characteristics such as abilities, powers, defenses or performance levels. These characteristics can be implemented in a preselected order or according to a statistical probability, for example, based on historic data. Characteristics of team members are variable based on characteristics of other team members and opposing team members or other competition factors. Game play is conducted between characters without the need for further user interaction.

Abstract: In one embodiment, at least one first information handling system of a user receives an excerpt of information associated with the user. In response to the excerpt, the first information handling system automatically translates the excerpt into an XML format, so that the translated excerpt is compatible for operation with at least one second information handling system of the user. The first information handling system synchronizes the translated excerpt with the second information handling system.

Abstract: In one embodiment, on a display device, at least one information handling system displays an excerpt of XML-formatted information, and displays a list of folders. In response to a command from a first user, the information handling system saves the displayed excerpt of the XML-formatted information in a folder that is selected by the first user from among the displayed list of folders. In response to a command from the first user, the information handling system selectively enables access to the selected folder by one or more second users specified by the first user.

Abstract: In one embodiment, on a display device, within at least one web browser window, at least one information handling system: displays a result of a search by a website in response to a search term query specified by a user; displays a list of folders; and highlights at least a portion of the displayed result of the search by the website. In response to a command from the user via the web browser window, the information handling system saves the highlighted portion in a folder that is selected by the user from among the displayed list of folders.

Abstract: In one embodiment, at least one information handling system receives an excerpt of information. In response to the excerpt, the information handling system performs at least one of the following operations: in an XML format, automatically storing the excerpt in a folder that is preselected by a first user, wherein the folder is accessible by one or more second users specified by the first user; and, in the XML format, automatically outputting the excerpt to one or more second users preselected by the first user.

Abstract: In one embodiment, at least one information handling system receives an excerpt of information. In response to a configuration of the information handling system, the information handling system performs at least one of the following operations: automatically translating the excerpt from an XML format into a non-XML format, so that the translated excerpt is compatible for operation with the information handling system; and automatically translating the excerpt into an alternate XML format, so that the translated excerpt is compatible for operation with the information handling system.
