  • Publication number: 20240309729
Abstract: The invention comprises a novel nozzle for use in wellbore tubing strings. The nozzle has an annular cylindrical nozzle body surrounding a frangible material. The frangible material is bonded to the nozzle body forming a seal. When deployed in a well, the nozzle prevents fluidic communication between the inside of the tubing sting and an annulus of the well. A further component of the nozzle may comprise a stress riser that, when actuated, breaks the frangible material, allowing fluidic communication between the inside of the tubing string and the annulus of the well. Subsequent well operations (e.g., fracturing or production) may then be conducted.

  • Publication number: 20240301763
Abstract: A device such as a smart dart is configured to reversibly engage and disengage with a seat in a tubing string. In an engaged configuration, pressure applied above the device forces a first seat component to engage a second seat component. The interaction of the first seat component and the second seat component under pressure produces an inwardly radial circumferential force that grips the device within the seat and may also form a seal between the device and the seat.

  • Patent number: 10669820
Abstract: A frac and gravel packing system including a tubular having a longitudinal axis, a wall defining an interior flowbore, a radial frac port and a radial production port extending through the wall in a first zone of an annular region surrounding the tubular; a screen surrounding the production port, the frac port not covered by the screen; a sleeve system including a sleeve longitudinally shiftable with respect to the longitudinal axis of the tubular, the sleeve configured to cover the frac port in a first position of the sleeve and uncover the frac port in a second position of the sleeve; and, a return path arranged to permit return fluid from a fracturing operation to exit the first zone of the annular region, wherein the return fluid passes through the screen prior to accessing the return path.
